A flyweight bout between Tyson Nam and Matt Schnell has been pulled from Saturday night’s UFC Vegas 10 card.
UFC officials confirmed the news to MMA Fighting on Friday citing weight management issues for Schnell forced the cancellation of the fight. The news was initially reported by ESPN.
Schnell was making his first appearance since losing to Alexandre Pantoja in Dec. 2019. Prior to that setback, the former Ultimate Fighter competitor had won four straight fights.
He had never previously missed weight during his UFC career.
According to Schnell’s manager Matt Weibel, he was only a couple of pounds overweight when he collapsed on the scale earlier today, which resulted in a trip to the hospital and the fight being cancelled.
He is doing better, just disappointed.

As for Nam, this will force him back to the sideline after he looked to build on a spectacular first-round knockout over Zarrukh Adashev back in June.
Nam vs. Schnell was originally slated as the featured bout on the UFC Vegas 10 prelims and based on the current listing on the UFC’s website, a bantamweight showdown between Julia Avila and Sijara Eubanks is now expected to fill that spot.
UFC Vegas 10 will be headlined by a strawweight fight between top 15 ranked contenders Michelle Waterson and Angela Hill.
