The former LFA flyweight champion uncorked a vicious head kick late in the third and final round for her fight against Justine Kish before earning the stoppage with a rear naked choke on the canvas. The official time was 3:57 into round three.
“One of my tools is the kicks. I have a long reach. So from the beginning of the fight, I wanted to kick her,” Mazo said about her kicking game after the win. “I think she’s a really tough opponent.
“She was already dizzy so finding the rear naked choke for me was the best option.”
All hail the 'Colombian Queen!'

Mazo had been using that same head kick throughout the fight with Kish but the former Ultimate Fighter contender had done a solid job either eating the shot or avoiding it all together.@SabinaMazo's headkicks just COULDN'T BE STOPPED.

She wasn’t so lucky in the third round with Mazo likely down on the scorecards, the Colombian born flyweight left nothing in her arsenal as she threw everything at Kish looking for the finish.
Just as Kish was stepping backwards, Mazo threw the head kick that slammed home with immediate impact. Kish dropped to the ground and Mazo seized on the opening to secure the submission to notch her third straight win overall.
Mazo is now 3-1 in the UFC with her only loss coming in her debut fight as she continues to climb up the flyweight ranks with her first finish inside the octagon.
