On Sunday, Trump held an indoor rally in Henderson, Nev. as part of his 2020 re-election campaign and he noted several special guests in attendance including UFC president Dana White and several fighters sitting alongside him.
“He is so smart, so tough, so cunning,” Trump said about White during the rally. “He’s been a friend of mine for a long time. I’ve been a friend of his.
“He also loves his fighters. He wants to take care of his fighters and he brought some of them along, the best.”
Trump then went onto pay homage to the fighters in attendance — Colby Covington, Henry Cejudo and Justin Gaethje — while also promoting some of their upcoming fights. In fact, in a separate backstage video, Trump promised to watch the upcoming UFC Vegas 11 card where Covington will compete in the main event against Tyron Woodley.
“I’m going to be watching Colby, I’m a big fan of Colby,” Trump said in a video posted to Covington’s Instagram. “He is a winner, He is a champ and it’s going to be a great evening and a great fight.
“I wish him the best of luck. I’ve just seen him a lot and he is tough. Good luck champ.”

“He said he’s going to knock him out,” Trump said when acknowledging Gaethje from the stage. “Well, we’re going to be watching. It’s right before the election, but I think I’m going to be watching it, OK? I’ll be watching. You better believe it. It’s going to be an incredible fight.”
Trump also mentioned Gaethje and Cejudo’s manager, Ali Abdelaziz, who was sitting in attendance with the fighters and White for the rally.
