Chris Daukaus made short work of Rodrigo Nascimento at UFC Fight Island 5, stopping his Brazilian opponent in just 45 seconds with a flurry of big punches.
A left hook sent Nascimento to the ground, and just as he managed to get back to his feet, Daukaus landed another left hook that put him down again and forced referee intervention on Saturday in Abu Dhabi.
It was the second straight knockout finish of UFC Fight Island 5’s preliminary card after a “Knockout of the Year” candidate in the previous bout between Joaquin Buckley and Impa Kasanganay.

Daukaus, the brother of UFC middleweight Kyle Daukaus, said Nascimento’s southpaw stance was the opening he needed to enter with his left hand. It was his second straight stoppage win after a first-round drubbing of Parker Porter in his octagon debut in August.
Contender Series vet Nascimento goes back to the drawing board after a debut submission win over Don’Tale Mayes in his May debut.
