No Parade for U.S. Troops

Although the Iraq war is controversial on many different plains, I think we all need to support the men and women of our armed forces that have sacrificed a lot. Finally, they have pulled out of Iraq and are coming back to the U.S.
I recently read that for fear of sending the wrong victory message to the world, the Obama administration is not planning a "welcome home event" for the troops.
Personally I think this is the wrong decision. Whether we won anything or not we should still celebrate thousands of our citizens finally coming home after a decade of fighting.

Just another thing that pisses me off with Obama. We should be proud of our troops and screw what the rest of the world thinks about it.

I agree with you both, we should honor those who lost friends, family and others close to them. It's a shame that they basically go over there and get thrown to the wolves and now get no kind of national recognition for it

Mr. President needs to stop worrying so much about what the rest of the world think and be a little more concerned with what the people in the country he is in charge of think. What a pussy.

I think they really cut the balls off Obama by giving him that Nobel Peace Prize. Now he feels he has this great legacy to live up to and he's scared to stand up to anyone. Look at how he's handled Iran so far:

Obama: Can I have my drone back?
Iran: No!
Obama: Please...
Iran: No!
Obama: Pretty please...

He definitely doesn't have the sack needed to run a global power. We really need someone who doesn't care what other countries care. We need someone who will stand up for what's right in our own country first and foremost and less about how it's going to be interpreted by other countries

Finally someone said it- he doesn't consider the military essential in grand scheme of things so why would he consider honoring those who fought for America's democratic values and to keep the US safe from the radicals ???
