What do you guys do for joint pain/tendonitis? I have diagnosed tendonitis in both knees and elbows and it fuckin sucks. I take forever to warm up, use icy-hot, and use sleeves or wraps. I just recently bought a shit load of Glucosamine, MSM, and UC-II. I plan on taking 4000/4000/80mgs a day, and hope it does at least something! Palumbo says most people just don't use enough, and I'm at the point where I'll fuckin try anything.

i dont respond to glucosamine so fish oil, sleeves and warm up. i really just posted to see what others have to share
 
I AM NOT SURE ABOUT ITS THAT PEOPLE DONT USE ENOUGH, THAT MAY BE THE CASE, BUT I DO KNOW FOR SURE MOST PEOPLE DONT USE IT LONG ENOUGH, AS THEY DONT FEEL ANY RELIEF OR CHANGES SO THEY STOP TAKING IT, AND FROM WHAT I HAVE SEEN, THOSE WHO HAVE STUCK WITH IT FOR A LONG TIME, HAVE EXPERIENCED GREAT RELIEF FROM USING IT, I AM NOT ONE OF THOSE WHO EXPERIENCED RELIEF, AS I FALL UNDER THE CATAGORY OF NOT USING IT LONG ENOUGH,

AND THE WEIRD PART WAS , THE TENDONITIS HURT THE WORST WHEN I WAS USING LIGHTER WEIGHT, AND IT HURT THE MOST WHEN I WAS AT THE END OF MY REPS, LIKE WHEN RACKING DURING BENCH IT WOULD HURT SUPER BAD WHEN LETTING GO OF THE WEIGHT, BUT WHILE UNDER SUPER HEAVY TENSION IT WAS NOT SO BAD,
 
Mc igf seemed to help me along with lightening up my weight that I worked out with.

Yeah man, haven't used igf in a looooong time. I might have to try that again.

Yeah, gonna use it for at least 6 months and have been lifting in the higher rep ranges. Lifting lighter doesn't really help, because I just do more reps and the pain lasts throughout a longer fuckin set! I really just need to back off and rest for awhile, but who the fuck wants to do that?
 
I take glucosamine, fish oil and kratom. I started using kratom 2 months ago and it works miracles for my pain and it is a great pre workout.

Kratom? Isn't that supposed to get you high? I didn't know it was good for joint pain.
 
It is a mood enhancer and pain killer. There are different types of kratom and some are mainly for pain. Some will get you high and some not as potent but I take the maeng dae for energy and pain.
 
ostio-bioflex and static contractions

I hear people say they don't get the pump or the work out from static contractions-compared to what...not working out at all? Do a static contraction to failure and then a very slow negative. Tell me you muscle won't feel it the next day-if it doesn't then do 2 the next workout and if it doesn't hurt the next day either your lying or you have not pushed it the max.

Be tough and tear it up or work out smart...
 
You should take maximum rest and keep the affected joints elevated. Cold or heat packs will help you along with medications .You can also wrap the area with a compression bandage to reduce the pain.
 
I use to have joint issues but I started taking fish oil 3000 mg to 4000 mg a day and rarely have any pain. I have been doing this for 8 years or so

Yeah, consider yourself lucky. I've been taking 10g of fish oil everyday for well over 10 years. It sure as shit hasn't stopped my joint pain =/
 
Is it just me, or teed look a lot bigger these days! Haa Haa , what up guys. Teed, my joint issues didn't start till I started sitting all day.my biggest issue is my knees. I've learned more cardio, and streching. sucks, last thing you want to do is stay in the gym and stretch, but at least I'm can wipe my own as again.

I had chronic tendonitis in my elbows, both of them. Medial epichondilitis (golfer's elbow) and lateral epichondilitis (tennis elbow) in my right. Over the years I've had cortisone shots in both elbows, enough that the doc won't give anymore, I'm at my lifetime max (cortisone, it turns out, is a cataboloc steroid and breaks down tissue, which is why it's used for inflammation). So I went to a sports medicine orthopeadist who got me doing wrist curls with extremely light weight to start with, then progressing a pound at a time, 20 reps in every direction, one set (of each) every day. I didn't believe it would work, but did it anyway, starting with 5 lb dumbbells. When I got up to 27-1/2 lbs (I bought magnetic "plate mates, 1-1/4 lbs each to stick on the ends of my hex dumbbells so I could go up in weight 1-1/4 lbs at a time) I finally started to feel better. I'm now up to 35 lb dumbbells and I no longer do the curls every day but have zero pain most of the time. That's right, ZERO pain. I also used MC IGF-1 at 100 mcg directly into the tendon (medial epichondile) a few times. This really seemed to jump start the healing process.

I know it sounds counter intuitive to exercise the very thing that hurts, but I'm telling you, this has been a chronic problem for me for 10 or more years and I've tried literally everything to fix it including ice, sleeves, blah, blah, blah. You name it, I've tried it. The ONLY thing that worked is the exercises. I started with weight so light it just barely hurt after 20 reps. I would have been embarrassed to do it in a gym, they were so light (really, like 5 lbs, no shit). Slowly worked my way up, going from 5's to 8's, to 10's, etc, every stepbof the way using pain as the gauge: can Ibjust barely feel it after 20 reps at this weight? If it hurt more than that, I went back down in weight. It took a long time, weeks and weeks, but it finally did work. Try it, and stick withbit, I'm POSITIVE it will help your elbows. I wish I could offer a suggestion for knees, but I haven't had tendonitis there, so I got nothing for that...
