It's a good show, if a bit dated effects-wise, as it aired in 2002 and 2003 (movie in 2005). Very much a "western in space" out on the frontiers of civilization. Cancelled far too early, in the opinion of many.

If you guys like it check out "Cowboy Bebop". It's an anime along very similar plot lines. Space bounty hunters trying to make ends meet instead of smugglers
