Are people kidding themselves or am i just weak?

I see so many post about people talking zbout their lifts...for example.

I am 230pounds and my benchpress is about the same weight for 8reps.
In my gym i rarely see many ppl do much more apart from a handful of really big guys.

Now im constantly seeing people posting crap like ... im benching 350, i weigh 185 and cant seem to grow...WTF are people kidding themselves or am i weak as piss?
 
Yeah I think most people polish their numbers before they post them. Some people it seems are better at some lifts than others and then there the freaks who really can rip it up. Honestly there are few people who will be elite powerlifters and absolutely none that are top level and not on gear. Lets not kid ourselves once you start going over double body weight you are in serious territory, especially oer triple.
 
Don't belive everything u reAd on the net ask to look at there diet and what they are eating if they are doing 350 not the gear then u can see what they really are lifting without carbs and Cals at the right amount I don't care if ur lifting 200 or 400 I wanna know ur diet
 
This kind of goes along with it, but do you ever notice when people post a photo of themselves that always are a "couple of weeks out" no one ever want to post a photo and say hey everybody, this is as good as it gets........everyone is always almost there !!
 
some people are just stronger with certain lifts. im at 224 right now benched 355 x 6 tonight most has been 385 x 6 at around 230 but i probably couldnt even squat that right now

i have some crazy strength in my triceps which i think helps a lot with bench
 
Man I'm 240 and I only rep 205 at most 10-12 reps.but I have rotater cup issues.
And where I live dumbbells are used by the bigger guys they use like 135-160 on the bench for warm up then grab the 100 pound dumbells .
When I bang with people I know they call me old school for climbing on the straight bar but my shoulders do not feel good with dumbbells.
Another thing I do people trip on is always start with incline first so my upper chest is the same as the lower.
But I fairly see small guys lifting large amounts on the bench press.
 
Keyboard gangsters lol yea let it roll off the ducks back it's wishful thinking. There aren't but a handful at my gym that go over 3 plates on bench and thats out of 6k members lol. Whenever my group hit's 4 plates the place stops and they watch us like we are freaks. Same thing with squats.
 
When you post impressive numbers on here it's not worth a shit and will likely fall into the category of BULLSHIT! Due to so many guys lying! So yeah it's tough to weed out the legit from shit! I'm guilty of posting all my numbers in here from body weight to max lifting weight but I also have posted pictures , video and have a dozen or so guys on here who know me or go to my gym so I can't lie lol but I'll bet 99% of those who don't know me or any of us will think we're full of shit like the rest lol so it's pointless honestly

not hi jacking thread I wanted to post a video but it will not let me I also tried from my phone posting pics of my show and it will not let me... can you check this for me presser it has been going on since May I know.. thought maybe it was just my phone but today was from my computer...it lets me get to the upload portion and then nothing happens
 
How big of a video? Size in MB? If it's large, it's better (and preferable) for you to post it to Youtube then link to it here. The database can't handle storing videos very well.
 
I can count on one hand the number of guys in my gym that can put on 3 plates each side and bench it (regular bench), and I've only ever seen two people in ten years who could put 3 plates on an incline bench and rep it. I'm not one of them though I would like to be. I can put four plates each side on a decline machine. Now, am I actually lifting or pressing 360 lbs? No. The answer is NO. Some people will go brag about those kind of numbers though they leave out what they were actually using and leverage helped them lift it. Repping 230 lbs is quite damn good. There aren't that many people in my gym that can do that either.
 
at my biggest and strongest i was always clearly the big dude in the room, and likely the biggest dude in the gym and i'd always get people telling me what they did in high school/college, or what this guy they knew was putting up number wise and it always blew my numbers out of the water, so much embellished bullshit out there. i loved telling these kinds of people i could get them in the gym for free so they could prove their bullshit but they always back out lol.

Bench is definitely my strong point even at 6 1 with gorilla arms I managed 405 dec of 2015 at 205 lb bw... I have tried to post the video so you guys wont say I am full of shit but I assume its too big but I cant get pics to upload either so who knows... but we have several guys at my gym benching 315 to 365.. one kid who is 285 benches 430 but he is very thick in the chest with short arms... at the local y we have a guy around 27 who just benched 505 but again bw about 285 and very thick..

Dude that's not POLISHING nor EMBELLISHING, that's flat out BULLSHIT LIE if you turn 200 into 350 and borders on Mentally challenged
 
I love how I get the question all the time.... How much can you Bench? Is the bench the end all to how strong you are or something. I was asked twice today this question and it happens a lot and bench is a serious weak spot for me at my height with my range of motion. How much can I bench lol I want to say how far do you shoot a load when you jerk off.
