I drywall and metal studs for a livin and was wondering since I lift heavy all day long at work do you think that is affecting the rest of my muscles on my days off being that i am lifting drywall all day?

I guess theres nothing I can do about it really. I take a day off after every day on two muscles a day. what do you think

Your body will tell you when your overdoing it. Props to you for working out after a long physical day of working. The everyother day should be fine for you, mix it up now and then.

hey bro
work construction here also... usually working off of a ladder and with my hands over my head running pipe or hammer drilling or putting up light fixtures. We work sometimes 40 to 65 hours a week and I am shot... I train but EOD sometimes just because I am scared I will over train and I am beat unless I am on a heavy cycle. I was a foreman for a while and definately noticed a difference when I walked around with blueprints as opposed to physical work all day in my recovery time... when not working overtime or really busting my ass at work I train 4 days on 2 off when beat I train every other day

Same story here. I'm an ironworker and some days I can really tell I don't have the energy to get a decent workout. The only thing you can do is try to pay attention to how your body feels. There are some days when you will do yourself more good by resting. I only do one body part each time I go, and it seems to help. Sometimes that's all I have the energy left for.

I feel you on the drywall thing bro....I was the foreman of a local lumberyard for a couple of years before I scored the QC lab job I have now..........I still had to go on drywall runs with some of our drivers from time to time and that shit's HEAVY. Especially since we had some "cock diesel" guys who would tear the connecting paper on every other book and would carry 3 sheets of 4x12 at a time.....1/2 inch wasn't so bad, but 5/8 inch on the other hand....i swear my arms are 2 inches longer than they used to be

do you think because of the work i do I should take and extra day off at he end of the week to make sure my muscles are fully healed
