I have this weird condition where I get really uncomfortably bloated when I don't eat for a few hours. Due to my school schedule, I usually eat lunch at 11:30 and then by 3:00 when I go to the gym I feel like my stomache is sticking out a foot. I also used to get this when I waitressed for long hours and couldn't eat for much of my shift. It's very uncomfortable and annoying. Does anyone know of this problem or how to stop it?

usually bloating occurs after eating-so this sounds kinda odd really. Usually gas and bloat is associated with overeating or possibly undigested carbs especially sugars- in the gut-ferments into "gas". I would be tempted to say you may have candida overgrowth....or it could be a food allergy (or any kind of allergy really). I would schedule a visit with either a naturopathic practitioner or a holistic MD to see what they think. In regards to Candida there is a thread titled "colinics" where there was a good bit of info for gastric problems. Do a search for it on this site and search also for "Candida"...might be able to help you-also there are some nontoxic and very cheap treatments listed in those threads also.

Thanks Supersport, I will look into that. It's just weird how it's hours after I eat, and it doesn't matter what I eat for the meal before, whether it's healthy like tuna and broccoli or fatty like pizza, it doesn't seem to make a difference.

It actually takes a while for foods to digest.....you could even have an enzyme deficiency...that would cause some gas and bloating. If you can find a practitioner of Meridan Stress Analysis near you I would highly recommend making an appt for MSA. Or you could have a stool analysis-of the 2 the MSA will be much cheaper and it will identify food allergens, nutritional deficiencies , check organ function, etc. MSA is much more comprehensive.
