oh man, i've been doing reverse hacks (facing the machine) for about 2 months now and my legs are responding great to it. seriously everyone should try this. i saw it on dennis james' dvd, charles glass had him doing them i believe.

What kind of machine are you doing them on? There is no way I could do that on the hack machine they have at my gym. Are you using a Smith machine?

So, how exactly does it target your legs better? --that is, I assume, you are on a Smith machine facing the back...

no, a hack squat machine facing the pad. it will take some getting used to and you will want to press your chest against the pad but you need to put your forehead against the headrest and only the very front of your front delts under the pad. your feet will need to be pretty close together as well. seriousy just try t out for a few sets of like 10-15 reps and try and tell me you dont like it.

this is the closest picture i could find of it. i do it with my feet farther up the platform and my shoulders more towards the edge of the pads. but this is more or less what it looks like.

I've never tried to do squats like that, but I am going to try it. I have however, done calve raises on a hack squat machine in the reverse position. Works pretty well.

So that's how you do it, eh? I'll try that and let you know how it went.

It's supposed to hammer your hams if i remember correctly i tried it once but couldn't get the form right, i'll give it a try again though.

pervs...LOL

yeah, tony and chaps, let us kow how you like them!

I wish i could do them...but the standing position is so limited, that i can't fully extend to an upright position,...am a bit taller than most guys here.... :( my legs sucks ass...they are strong but it's missing the definition....the rest of my body is just fine.....

Flexmaster, I have tried these squats this past week. I recently moved and had to find a new gym. Gold's has one of these. I actually love it. I am 6'6", this machine is easy on my knees and lower back. I can push up more weight without the agony of pain. Thanks for the suggestion.
