just want to know if anyone else is a powerlifter here and whta kind of training you currently are doing. I just started to get into it about two weeks ago when i decided i wanted to break all of my school records, hopefully this upcoming march when the meet is, but if not the following march.

Current Lifts are:

Bench-335
Squat-415
Deadlift-405

Im hoping to get these #s to at least these

Bench-455
Squat-600
Dead-585

Any suggestions or routines that have worked for you are GREATLY welcomed.

naww sorry bro not muchon power lifting to be honest try some 3 board presses or with a phone book under your bar on your chest on bench and then one day when your not workin chest add in a lockout exercise put like 500 or whatever you can do and practice just locking out. I just know of a few cause of a couple old guys at my gym are going to nationals for bench press and thats just what they do. Are you allowed to wear a shirt lol if so get on some drol throw on a shirt and go beat it next week lmao.bump for anybody else though bro.

I'm relatively new to the power lifting side. Unfortunately many years spent benching and curling.lol For about a year I've been training the squat, dead lift and assorted accessory lifts for those. I feel alot stronger! The routine is a Westside style and I have to credit Ironaddicts and the great folks over there helping me get on the right path. My stats currently are bench press 335 dead lift 405 squat 315.The last two are coming along. I am by no means the strongest but at 45 there's hope for me yet! Add another plate!!

Whats up man, I am sort of into powerlifting. I actually compete in strongman for a hobby. Look up Eric Cressey. He is a trainer out of M.A. Look for his book "Maximum Strength". It will change the way you look at training! It is design to improve all three lifts you are talking about. It is a 16 week program. I never made it through the whole 16 weeks but I use the principles on my training and have never felt better.

I'm currently following Jim Wendler's 5/3/1 workout and it's been awesome! It progresses you at a good rate, it allows for recovery and you can personalize it to fit your needs. Also another way to go is go to Westside Barebell read Louis Simmon's articles and design a workout based on his philosophies that really helped me too.

bump for the 5/3/1, but i will say this, it may not progress fast enough if you're "on." Au Natural, you can keep progressing for weeks and months as long as you lift smart, deload when necessary, and rid yourself of muscle imbalances.
Westside is harder for people to "get" because its a lotta shit, but kinda customized to the lifter - basically you "find your weakness(es) and kill it" -quote from Louie Simmons. Its more like going back to elementary school of lifting and relearning everything related to getting stronger, and none of it is familiar. but if you look, there are templates out there for westside style.
Westside speed work may beat up your joints, esp elbows, to the point that you dont even wanna train. I know it happened to me a few years ago.
But if you're "on" its probably a method of training that will progress fast enough to make realistic sense.

Even "Au Natural" It progresses pretty slow as far as 1 RM goes. But I've been working on beating my reps on the last set of each lift and I have really liked that about it and have gotten a lot stronger from it so I can't complain.

Yeah I like how you can adjust Westside to you (individualize) for example I don't compete and a lot of Westside's stuff is to help the powerlifter with suits, etc... like all the tricep training to help with shirt bench so although I hit my tri's I didn't hit them the same way.

I'll be sticking with 5/3/1 for a while though it's been fun challenging and progress has been excellent.
