Losing too much muscle!!!

Bro's I've been cutting for about 2 months and I'm losing way too much muscle. My weights dropped from 255 to 225. I do morning cardio 45 min about 4 days a week. My strength isn't real low but its too low for me. I feel flat and undefined. I had planned on taking aqua burn, but as most of you know..... So I am going to start taking an ECA stack next week. Any suggestions. I'm thinking up my protein massively? pro/carbs is about 230/175 daily

yea, the flat and undefined feeling comes from your carbs being so low and dieting down. Less carbs = less water = flatter muscles. You need to a "refeed" day or carb cycle some. Some even advise an all out cheat meal. This make take some experimentation to see what works for you.

I see, this is the first time I've actually made a serious attempt to cut so I gotta find out what works.

your protein is WAY TOO LOW... personally I aim for 1.5 - 2 grams per lb of bodyweight so if you're 225 then you should be taking in a minimium of 338 grams of protein a day. It may sound like a lot but you can preserve muscle and build strength if you get your diet right bro. DO WORK!

Trust me, the first time I ever cut was natural with extremely low protein.. lost alot of fat, but lost alot of muscle as well. What has worked for me was when I shopped I would buy nothing but Protein and veggies. I didn't starve myself so I ate every time I got hungry. What did I eat? The only thing available, Protein and veggies.

So how often should one do a cheat day or carb up day? Once a week? Once every 2 weeks?

I'm asking because i've gone very low carbs for about 3 weeks straight now and i'm noticing that my weight loss has slowed down a lot, and i'm wondering if i carb up one day hopefully it should speed up again. But how often is a carb up day or cheat meal recommended?

the problem is, that there is no set answer. I up the refeed days when I notice my fat loss is becoming fat/muscle loss. finishing my cutter, Im refeeding more days then not trying to keep the weight from dropping too fasts. But my metabolism is fast and 200gms of carbs a day is like starving for me.

I understand that every body is different and every person's body will react differently to this. I'm sure there is a small rule of thumb type deal with this. Maybe 1 refeed day per week? Or maybe 1 cheat meal per week?

Any rule of thumb type things for this?

I'm only asking because i've noticed that my weight loss has come to a slowdown... meaning i was losing a good 3-4 lbs a week, whereas now i'm lucky to lose 2 lbs when nothing has changed, diet and excercise has been the same for me. I think my body needs a refeed day to trick it a little and to kick up my metabolism so i plan on doing it soon.

I like what all the guys had to say. Telling you from experience your body will tell you what you need to do diet wise... I can only tell you what I had to do to prevent what is happening to you and hope you tweak it and it works for you.

L-Glutamine 15-20 grams (5grams 4 x's a day)
Liquid Amino 3 times a day
BCAA 3 times a day
Essential Amino's 3 x's a day
EFA's
Protein (50grams 6x's a day)

I would only do 30 minutes cardio 4 days a weeek but make it more interval intense. I found I lost alot of muscle if I used the elipitical. The best things for me were recumbant Bike and threadmill.. 40 minutes I felt too much of a burn in my legs which i did not think was good so when I cut it back to 30 minutes and intensified my sessions I burned more calories but not more muscle.. Your diet appears to be TOO clean and TOO low in the right ratios (carbs fats proteins)...

keep us posted good luck.. BBB
