I have heard mixed reviews about these, could the misconceptions be cleared up. Could I please have everyone's opinion with supporting facts. Along with exercises liked the most if your opinion is yes.

Because I have heard that they help , but then also heard that they can damage your rotator cuff , because your arm is not ment ot bend that way , and over time your gurdle or something is basically getting sawed off. *JUST WHAT I READ SOMEWHERE*

They help, I dislocated my shoulder a while back, and they help add to stability and strength. You have to stick with higher reps and light weight. You are trying to keep the muscle fiberse small and dense to keep the shoulder in place. I've never heard of it causing problems as long as you are doing them correctly. I do a few different types. The basic ones are where you lay on your side and keep your arm bent at a 90 degree angle with elbow tucked and lift the dumbbell from one side of your body to the other. Another is to grab a dumbbell and hold it while standing, put your arm at a 45 degree angle, off to the side slightly and turn it. Kind of like you are pooring out a can of beer.lol That and just doing exercises to keep the rear delts strong help. If you do a search on yahoo or something, you can find several types demonstrated.

Exercises for rotator cuff really helped me rehabilitate my shoulder strain a few years ago.

i use therabands once a week no matter what when im going heavy. Ive ruptured my subscapularis completely before and have had many other right shoulder problems. They def. help me stay strong in that area. Look up theraband exercises should help ya out. Start out with light bands and work your way to thicker stronger ones good luck.
