I take in a little over 2gal of water everyday, but I also take in a shit load of salt. I've come to believe that we are much more active than the normal everyday person and that we need much more sodium. I use sea salt and I salt all of my meals and even protein shakes. I started doing this a few months ago and figured I would hold a shit ton of water. I did for a day or two, but that was it. On a keto diet, all the fat and sodium is what keeps your muscles full. I don't think any of us should be limiting our sodium intake at all. That's what makes you retain water when you eat something high in sodium one day. You end up blowing up and conclude sodium makes you retain water, when it's just that your body isn't used to processing that much sodium.
