How to motivate your wife?

My wife wants to lose fat, too. Or so she says just about every day, but I can't seem to get her to go to the gym or even use the elliptical we bought. How can I motivate her in a positive way without being overbearing?

Feed her anavar or something mild enough where she will not see any sides, but strong enough where she will see results so fast that she will become motivated quite fast.

my wife smilely has been looking through the board and she started working out again. so i think that just helped.

From my experience - she has to want to do it. I have done everything to get my wife
going. Bought her countless memberships to everything - arobics, water arobics, gyms,
personal training ect. Also bought treadmill, weights ect. Once she had a contest with
some girls at work and lost 16 lbs in six weeks just from going to my buddys gym.
Contest was over (she won $150) and so was her workout. When we met she was a
arobic fanatic. I have tried to get her to walk/jog - and all of these things I have
done with her. I have even walked with her carrying one of my kids on my shoulders and
pulling one of them on their bike with a rope. She tells me to push her but it ends up
in a fight when her lazy side takes over and she dont want to do shit. I dont bug her
anymore. SHE has to want it. When she bitches about her shape I say It must not bug
her enough to do anything about it. I am supportive but to keep anything up it has to
be from their desire. One thing I have found out is once they get started it is easier
to keep them going - the longer they are off the harder it is to get them started.
Good luck bro. Let us know how it works out.

my wife just wants to complain that she's fat. She will never do anything about it.

we all know education is everything. In regards to the board and a wife 'wishing' she was thinner... edudate her, or at least point here so she can see she's not alone in her studying..

If one of you is a prophet and can answer this question... I will get presser to give you a massage with some of that lube in his avatar pic. Well maybe I will try.

tell her she is fat and if she doesnt get unfat you will trade her in for slimmer newer model

I agree, she has to want to do it. She complains that she's too tired when she comes home from work to do anything. I think she thinks that she has to go workout for 30-60 minutes. I think I'll tell her that if she just gets on there for even 5 minutes, that's a step in the right direction. If she gets in the habit of doing that, then maybe she'll start feeling how good it makes her feel and start spending more time each time she does it.

Honestly, like someone else said... she has to make the decision on her own to WANT to commit to it. Otherwise, she isn't likely to be successful. It also helps if you actually LIKE to workout, lol.

But if she doesn't, I find that some things that help pass the time on the elliptical are:
- Watch TV.
- Listen to mp3 player.
- Read a book or magazine (I prefer mags that fuel my motivation - Oxygen, M&F, M&F Hers, Flex, Muscular Development, etc).

And don't forget to:
- Keep a big bottle of cold water and a towel nearby.
- Remember that you have to force yourself to do it no matter how much cardio sucks.

I'm surprised she didn't stick with it after losing weight for the contest. Successful results always motivate me to continue to stick with whatever I'm doing!

bro your so correct about telling her that after about a month of pushing herself that her energy will sky rocket! Hell i would bet their are studys out there to prove that from a dorment exercise state to a month in just cardio of say 15minutes daily that a persons energy goes up a good percentage! I would bet my life on there being a study to prove it, but i think thats ur best angle if being tired is her main reason for not going,

This is how I got my girl to lose 45lb's in 2 months.

I cooked and prepared every meal for her. Breakfast, pre-packed her lunch and made dinner.

It was a hell of alot of work but all she had to do is eat since I took the low carb approach so she didnt even have to excercise. She didnt.lol

But after two months she was lookin damn good and it was worth the work.

Now she works out because she is super confident. So it was worth playing slave cook for two months.

yeah she wasnt into fitness......she didnt believe she could lose weight that fast without working out.......so I had to give her a boost. Today she does it all for herself and works out.....I know it's a bit odd but I had to do what worked to get her motivated.
