Olive Oil ?

A friend of mine has just puchased some home made test , the oil was very dark he was told it was made with olive oil , it has been 4 days since his last shot , he says his ass is all red and hot . I told him if its doesent get better in 2 days go to emergency room , Is dark olive oil ok to use ?

Doesn't sound good bro. I don't know about olive oil personally, but im assuming it wasn't very sterile if he is having these problems. Bro, he could literally go septic if he isn't careful. Is he running fever all over or just in the inject site?

Sheesh man....tell him to get his ass in to see a doc if he's got a fever at all. That way he can get some antibiotics to fight this thing off.

doctor now. I dont know how to sterilize oil but i wouldnt think olive oil would be the best to use. Im not a homebrew master by any means though. Send him to the ER. Cellulitis is not something to fuck around with.

Dark olive oil? That sounds like raw olive oil, and I don't think that would be okay to use. Doesn't sound like it was filtered or sterile. He needs to get his ass to the doctor.

if he doesn't want to go to the doctor he can at least look up some vetrinarian antibiotics (google it) they are the same thing and domestic it runs about 25 dollars for a bottle alot of illegals where i live buy them for their kids. Check his temp if it is over 99 and his injection site is red hot and puffy he should get on some penicillin for about two weeks if he refuses to see a doc. but the doc would be the best route. just tell the doc he sat in a small nail at a bench in the park

thanks for all the input , hes in hospital on antibiotic drip , and trying to determine as of yesterday if he needs to be cut to drain , poor kid his first experiance with steroids , cheeper is not always better , and be weary of the guy who has everything all the time !

Anything you put in your body cheaper is never better. Hope he gets better soon. Try to educate him the best you can so this doesnt happen again.

ive heard of people using olive oil in home brew. If it wasnt heated up to a certain degree, and then filtered, it could be un-sterile. Then again, who was there to watch him administer the shot? His enviornment could have been not so sanitary. Did he swab the vial?? Was the vial sealed?? Did he clean the in-ject spot with alcohol?? Did he use a fresh pin?? There is a few variables to consider......I use homebrew ALL the time, and so do ALL of my friends, and nobody has ever had a problem.

Me too. Infections are nothing to play with. My wife works at a hospital and tells me all these horror stories about how people just let them go and go and go. They don't realize how quickly infections can spread and if not taken care of take your life.

a lot of us have gotten infections from brand name stuff so if this is a homebrew, bath tub brew or some cheap underground lab is it any surprise he got this sick...?

I would not use olive oil just because its alot thicker than cotton seed, peanut, or grape seed. If he made sure the oil was sterile and filtered, something else is the problem.

He should figure out exactly what he did wrong, or he will end up in the hospital again.
