Phoenix Pro and the IFBB

Who in the flying fuck is seriously going to compete in this? I remember contestants complaining that the Iron Man was too close to the Arnold but now the Phoenix Pro is separated by only a few weeks. What big names are going to show up to this? Freeman and Silvio? I don't get the IFBB and some of their decisions. It's as if weider's brain-dead ass is still making all the decisions over there because I can't make much sense out of a lot of what they do. How about a schedule that makes sense? Or an announcer that doesn't make George Bush look like an expert orator (talking about Bob Chickahomo)? The IFBB needs to up its professional image if it's ever going to be taken seriously. Fuck, if they could just get their shit together maybe we'd start seeing broadcasts on ESPN again.

You know, in all honesty, until that fucker dies, and a competent businessman takes his place, the IFBB is going to continue to operate far below its potential.

It would be nice to watch the Olympia on TV one day wouldn't it? I can only imagine the torture it would be on the body to try to make both of those. I also wonder how many competitive guys on here would say the cutting is one of the least healthy things they do. Seems like they are not considering the athletes health to me. Just my two cents.

100% agreed.. that's why I am glad I am at least 3-4 years out from potential ifbb status.. and I am hoping by then they have a competent person running it.. i mean.. i don't like Dana White but seriously.. look wtf he did for MMA and the UFC.. he brought it mainstream and there's just as much money as being a top level professional MMA fighter as there is being top level pro-any sport *other than baseball because their contracts are ridiculous*

Dana White went from barely a struggling Millionaire to a MULTI-BILLIONAIRE Corporation.. that's all HIS!!

Bodybuilding needs something like that.. BUT .. i dont think it will ever happen because "STEROIDS ARE ILLEGAL" booohooo and it's cheating.. and waaaaa.... "Jay Cutler did x amount of test more than me .. so he was obviously going to be bigger than me... it's not fair.. he cheated"

I can see it happening now...

Explain to me why again there are thousands of protests every year to legalize Marijuana but ZERO protests to legalize AAS?? Why is this...

Yeah, I guess my whole point is that the IFBB seems to be totally mismanaged. From the top, they have people running an organization that they clearly are not qualified to run—yeah they get by...barely. The thing is: what's an alternative option? The IFBB won’t allow for competition. I'd love to see the IFBB get someone in there who could really commercialize the sport, take steps to legitimize it by focusing on professionalism (like competent announcers and real sponsors).

But as I mentioned above, the old man needs to die first.

i dont ever see bbing becoming more popular. not with americans getting fatter and lazier. they dont want to be reminded of how pathetic they are. thats why poker is a 'sport'.

Isn't that the truth. But my brothers and I always wanted to be the freaks that walk past the everyday joe and have him look at his buddies, asking "Did you see the size of those mf'ers?"
