Would to much media hurt bodybuilding?

You always hear people wanting bodybuilding to be more in the media spotlight and public, but would that be best for it? Knowing the darkside and what really goes on, I would think keeping bodybuilding out of the spotlight will keep it around longer. I could just see the news media running wild and digging up things, just to get a story, and really hurting bodybuilding. Would like to see more money involved, but not all the shit that may come with it.

discuss?

You hit the nail on the head- when its reported its never the bodybuilder that overcame being blind to become a national level bodybuilder, its the body builder that killed a fitness check or roid raged out and ran over someone.
I don't think it would ever be mainstream- too many ignorant people including most of the media.

Definitely have to agree. The smaller the area the worse that effect is, too. Fitness is huge in my state almost more so than any other state, but because of many mindsets here, if you are over a certain size as in you look like a bodybuilder (which can be from my size up to pro size), they all look at you like--and in many cases treat you like you're some guy on drugs that could craze out on them any second.

We need this type of media to be mainstream

I don't think we need to have congress spend millions upon millions of tax payers dollars on indicting the entire Olympia line up. You think Bonds and Clemmons was bad holy fuck what a circus that would be..........

wow!, yeah I didnt even think of something like that happening.

Skinny hit the nail on the head. With the steroid witch hunt that is underway right now in pro sports, it is best that bodybuilding stay under the radar for a while.

i think it would hurt it even more...

its bad enough that the "testing" in the pro ranks is a joke as it is

if they actually started fully testing it would be the end of the ifbb.
