Contest Prep?

I think Big n WV and Showtime25 have talked me into entering a show next year. There are two shows pretty close to me in late May and late June. So, I will pick one of those and enter.

Right now I'm about 187-188 lbs, 6', and not sure about bodyfat %. I'm on week three of a test e 500 mg a week cycle and I'm using IGF at about 40 mcg a day. My weight right now is an all-time high for me. I'd like to hit 200 on this cycle, but we'll see.

So, for a contest 10 or 11 months away, what should my timelime look like? How long do I bulk, when do I start cutting, is there a target weight I should shoot for? Since this is my first contest I'll obviously be entering the novice class. And about the only knowledge I have of contest prep is from reading the Dude's, Nuknuk's, and Chris's logs. So, any and all advice would be appreciated.
 
Yea man, contest prep ranges. I dieted for 20 weeks for my last show and that was too long for my body. I lost too much muscle and peaked too early, but I was extremely ripped. I am going to get a good coach this time around though, but without seeing pics, I'd say anywhere from 8-20 weeks. It just depends on what you're looking like so with progressive pics, we can better tell and give you advice.
 
Yea pics would help alot, would say do a 16 week diet and see how the first 8 weeks go then see if you need to grow into the show or still cut down. But yea I agree with the others pics first then decide on when to diet. If you can too try to figure body fat % as well.
 
I'll try to get some pics up soon. I think my arms and chest are okay, but my legs, back, and shoulders need serious work.
 
15 weeks is usually average
First time competing I would do 20 to play it safe.

You have to figure your body out
 
Hit those squats and deads! Also get as much protein as you can from foods. Also I wouldn't try to "bulk", put on as much clean muscle as possible but try to find what your body needs. Don't worry about the scale. Use the mirror and your training logs and get stronger.
