Dont know whats up, but the last 2 leg days, I have not been able to squat due to pain in my knees. It takes all I can to do 135lbs on squat. I just gave up on them today and moved on the leg press.

hell yeah brother i know that feelings, last week same thing with me. i was doing hack squats and felt like my knee caps were gonna pop off

Welcome to my world.
THis is one of the reasons I am no longer competing.
I have tendonitis from years of lifting. I have tried prolo therapy and deep tissue
It just sucks man. Best advice is to rest them

Shit! Hopefully it will pass with time. Or if I just have to work around squats then so be it.

Sorry to hear this nuknuk, as i know the feeling, i need total knee replacements and the pain is unbearable at times, so hopefully your knee pain is somehting that will heal with time brutha

If their is one peice of advice i can give you, it is take time off and dont even push it with light weight!!! Cause if u push it even just a little you could wind up like me needing knee replacements

would you say, like 2 weeks no quads(sqauts, leg presses, lunges, leg ext.).?
Could I still train hamstrings? calves?

I would lay off all of it, hamstrings included , atleast until the pain is totaly gone. I pushed through my pain and it was the worse decision i have ever made, i cant say for certain if doing hamstrings will be detrimental to ur knee issues, but i wouldnt bother trying to find out either, when i had my pain first start i didnt just cut out quads and just do hammies, as i kept pushing through doing both, so i have no idea if i had of just did hamstrng workouts if i would have been ok, or if it still would have fucked me, but again why bother

that is why, they have already done multiple studies that have shown that hack squats are the worst thing that a lifter can do for their knees...

yes, it is the best exercise for developing the outer sweep but it's also the worst exercise for your knees

Doing hamstrings would be safe for the knee joint itself. Most of the load is on the ligaments (unless you r doing deadlifts). Squats especially deep squats put a huge strain on your patella and the trochlear groove of your femur. So if their is any hint of early arthritis on your patella squats will most certainly aggrevate it.

Try doig barbell hack squats instead, they feel a lot better

good advice brutha thanks

Any update? Do they crack or ache when you're not doing legs? Are you taking any kind of joint supplements? I know Schiff makes some great joint products OTC

I would also take a couple weeks off of all leg movements. I also personally LOVE DMSO for issues like this. The ligaments and tendons are primarily made of sulfur and DMSO is the most biologically available form and it's transdermal! I'm also loving the Tommy Kono knee bands that Big n WV recommended. I squat at least in the 400's every week and no knee pain during or after any leg workouts.

Glad they are helping you out, these might help you out too nuk nuk. They are definitely worth the money even though they aren't that expensive in the first place

Where can you pick these up at? I need something like this, have experienced similar knee pain, starting taking fish oil & Supercissus for the joints which has helped a ton, but would like some extra protection, as I'm trying to put some more size on my legs

Wait i thought DMSO was the substance used to mix whatever compound with to make it transdermal, i didnt think DMSO was anything but the method of transprotation for transdermal use?

Am I missing something?
