I passed one today and wondered how they are still in business. I buy all my supplements online now, because the prices are so much better.

theres one right next door to my gym. i stop in and check out their clearance shelves about once a week to see if theres any good deals.

When I did go in there, they did always have some decent clearance items from time to time, but there's not one on my way to the gym so I don't stop to check as often as I'd probably need to in order to find the good deals

the one kid that works the counter at the gnc lifts usually during the same time i do. he'll put stuff behind the counter for me if he knows i'll want it.

That's awesome bro, it'd be great to have a connection like that. My old training partner worked there for a short period of time and he'd do stuff like that for me or he'd buy stuff with his discount and give it to me

What drives me crazy about gnc is every time I go in there they have a 40 year old over weight lady workin and they have no clue what there talkin about. And it's over priced.

I could handle the overpricing as I know they need to make money and their markup is probably crazy, but to have someone that knows NOTHING about the products really pisses me off.

Every now and then I will get some supps from GNC. Although, I have known the people that work there for years so they give me the employee discount. They better since I taught most of them all they now when I worked there 8 years ago.....

Its funny there are building a nice one next to a Vitamin Shoppe- I like VS because they have a rewards system- go in there if I need something in a pinch and their pricing , at least here, matches most of online pricing.

I don't know if they get comps for certain products, but they certainly act like they do

I don't know for a fact but I would say they do. Seems like they always try to push the gnc brand junk.

I have a place near me called vitamin shoppe and they match prices and have great online specials they will match in store including offering cedits towards purchases in the form of certificates like $10, 20, etc. Im not promoting them but they carry decent products and they are at least a decent competitor for GNC. I get better service there too, i almost despise GNC now becausse of the above mentioned facts.
