Trigger point therapy

As I've gotten bigger and stronger I've had to get more and more types of treatments. I go to a chiropractor, massage therapist, and now get "trigger point" treatments. It's amazing. Basically the Dr feels all the muscles on either side of my body and can tell what muscle have little spasms. He sticks a 29g in the area and the muscle relaxes, then to alleviate the freed up lactic acid he injects a little Novacaine. It's amazing! I do it once or twice a month with my adjustments. Anyone else heard of this or try it?

Nope only first heard of it from you guys. Sounds great, wish I wasn't allergic or I would try it.

will this get rid of knots?

I've never heard of this, but my gf will lean up against a wall with a kids baseball exactly on the muscle that's having a spasm and will roll the ball over the spasm until it releases. I guess it serves the same purpose except it's got to be more painful than just getting the shot

It depends on what the knot is from. If its scar tissue or something of that nature then no. But knots in the back that all of us get and the knotted spasms that develop in the neck and even legs - yes. It's really weird. You can actually watch and feel it relax. It's incredible.

That is definately the painful way to work on them. With this it's literally a tiny pin prick and you feel the whole thing relax. I had a bad one a few weeks back. He could tell I had a spasm bc my right shoulder was 1/2 higher than my left! 4 pin pricks later I felt like a new man and was all evened out.

Most I ever had was deep tissue massage and he literally popped the knots which I didn't even know I had or were even there until he was putting pressure on them and they popped. It was weird not knowing u had knots and the getting them all pointed out to u and popped. I felt like a million dollars when done .
