Keto Diet?

Anyone here have any luck with it? I tried it a few months ago and I'm thinking I didn't do it right as I gained about 8 lbs in 10 days. But I was so gun shy to do the high fats thing, maybe I didn't eat enough fats.

I'm just trying like hell to drop some weight which equates to body fat so I can pick a contest!!

BTW if anyone did, is there a diet protocol or special instructions I can follow? Thanks

The Palumbo keto diet is the best one to follow...goggle it, as there is tons and tons of info on it...I can answer most of your questions from it as I have done it many times for precontest...

I've done it twice with great results! I won't do it again for other reasons completely not related to the diet. I have to say cashews almonds and natural PB never tasted as good as it does when your on the keto diet! I think I have my diet from my last show somewhere, if you want me to post it I'll try to find it.

Thanks for the info, I did just what you say, got a lot of info. I may PM you down the road. Right now I'm just stagnated. I'm thinking before I wasn't eating the right kinds of fats. Is it normal to gain a few pounds at first?

Yes thanks Bro that would be great. When it states low carb, define low. Less than 50 grams/day?

I'll look for it tonight!! Dave suggest less than 30 carbs BUT the 30 carbs come from the small amounts you get in your every day eating like natty pb.

And I always dropped 8-10 lbs the first 7-10 days due to the loss of water from going no carbs. I'm a water buffalo though when it comes to carbs.

I think I might give this a try as well. To you feel tired or sluggish while doing it since you are limiting your carb intake. I have never done any type of Keto before so I have no clue on how it effects my body

One last question regarding this diet. as your weight drops do you have to drop your protein intake. I am trying to drop 30lbs that why I ask to keep me around 220. I am currently taking in between 230-250 a day. split between 6 meals.

I felt really sluggish the first 3-4 days (which is normal, that Is how long it usually takes for you body to switch from using carbs as fuel to using fat for fuel). I would probably keep my protein intake at about 220. I started my diet last time at 238lb and my protein intake I believe was around 210, which was what we figured was going to be my stage weight. Let me add I'm no expert on this, I've done it twice and had great results both times. I'm sure Chris would be a much better reference.

Whole premise is high protein mod fats low low carbs, actually no direct carbs except non starchy vege, for me its broccolli, Im on my second week and yes the first week was brutal but well worth it, I eat steak(tri-tip) eggs and cheese. Ill change some stuff up a little too, like hamburger instead of the steak, eggs and cheese stay, cardio is min 60 max 90 day, 60 is 1 session 90 is broke into 2 45 mins, low intensity for me no higher than 125 beats a minute, prefer even lower under 120, remember you stiil have to count keto doesnt mean hog wild on fats cause you get get fat on keto as well, drink plenty of water cause you dehydrate easy 2 gallons a day for me, do it righ you will like it if you make it past the first week
