Big meals vs. frequent meals

Everyone knows that your body uses food more efficiently with frequent meals, but can larger meals with less frequent feedings work as well? I ask because sometimes I sleep late and am forced to try to get my calories in with less time so I seem to focus on more calorie dense foods. It also would be nice to just have 3 big meals a day and just pack snacks as opposed to 6 or 7 meals when on vacations or out. Opinions ?
 
I say no, because your body can only handle so much at once anyways. List your 3 big meals and lets break it down and see.
 
If I get 3 real ggod meals and 3 shakes with raw eggs and oalmeal plus 2 healthy snacks (fruit and greek yogurt), then I feel fuller and stronger but in this heat, damn Im lucky to get anything down
 
on the other hand, I am eating throughout the day. for example:
breakfast shake- oatmeal, banana, pb, cottage cheese
post wo-25g protein powder, banana, cottage cheese, pb, 16oz skim milk
meal 1- 12 egg whites 1 hour after post wo approx
meal 2- 4-8 oz fish, beef or poultry
meal 3- 8-12oz fish, beef or poultry with potato or rice
meal 4- 4-8oz fish, beef or poultry
meal 5- 8-12oz beef or poultry with mixed veggies

now I eat this throughout the day, not as a sit down meal per se, but taking regular mouthfulls every 15-20mins so that I maintain regular uptake.
Thoughts?.....
 
I prefer smaller meals throughout the day, 300-400 calories about 6-7 times a day.
 
I think you would be fine dude if you can only get 3 meals in daily due to time permitting. I know i have a hard time even eating 2-3 meals, and generaly eat one solid meal a day and then have shakes, i know thats awful and would never advise what i do, i personaly just have a very very hard time eating. But back to ur question, i think u will do well with 3 big meals and ofcourse more frequent meals throughout the day is best but if ya cant ya cant
 
I don't do it all the time, but sometimes it's the best that I can do. I always worry about getting enough food. It's almost impossible for me to gain weight and I lose it incredibly fast.

You got nothing to worry about then brutha! how long have u been stuck at ur current weight?

It's probably been 6 months. I'll gain a pound here and there, but it's just fluctuation as I lose it just as fast. Maybe I need to raise the doses, but I really don't want to do that. After Vegas I'll likely take a break and clean out and see how I respond after that.
