what a joke I called three places today

aside from those 4 shitty shots of sust that I took a couple weeks ago I've been off everything since last Aug

first place said they accept insurance but I would have to go in every week so they could give me the shot, I told them this would be a problem since I work on the road...they said too bad. Everytime I go in they get $50

second place we accept insurance but we give you gel or pellets that have nasty side effects

third place we don't accept insurance-IF you have low test it will cost you over $300 before your first shot

What?? My insurance wouldn't cover it, but it was like $90 a bottle. Now I'm not saying this is CORRECT, but I did it as a precaution in case I ever got popped. Technically I've got a script so that really trashes the case. In fact Ive HAD scripts for Deca, Anavar, and several others. Prosecutors want slam dunks not arguing over what is and is not prescribed... then you get into the whole medical privacy thing... I always tell people that if you are ever going to do anything illegal that you may be arrested for... make sure you muddy up the waters... All these prosecutors want is to have a bunch of slam dunk convictions to put on their resume to get into private practice. If they don't have it chances are pretty good they will want a plea or drop it all together.

that's the hard part is finding someone that is cool...and if they don't know you they won't do you any favors

My insurance won't cover it either. When you say 90 / bottle thats for cc's right? Like you I just keep my script with my gear.

I feel so lucky my endo just looked at my low t, and was like......u want a script for test? I was like......ummm fuk yea! And he handed it to me. lol.

Man a couple more cycles and I. Sure I will need it.I'm researching trt clinic s in mg area they all run like 150.00 a month sounds high to me.

TRT clinics are a major $$$ maker. There are a couple of clinics online that use various local doctors. In some cases they'll fly you to one of their docs in another state if they have no associates near you. But they're not cheap, the going rate seems to be $200/month.

Some do accept insurance, BUT "age related low testosterone" has been declared "normal" and therefore many insurance companies won't cover it. Some of the clinics won't accept insurance but you can submit a claim to your insurance company and get reimbursed. This is a royal PITA.

I started out at a clinic where I had to go in weekly. At the time, I lived in a major city and was close to the place, so it was no big deal. Plus, my insurance covered the cost. When I moved back to where I live now, which is somewhat in the boonies, I had to find another route. I eventually found a urologist who prescribes TRT for erecike dysfunction. This guy knows his shit and is pretty cool. So, I'm in good shape.

However, it was a MAJOR struggle to find this guy. I tried a family doctor, who is also pretty cool, and certainly has good intentions, but does NOT understand hornones. I tried an endocrinologist. These are the docs who specialize in hormones, so they SHOULD know what the fuck they're doing. The one I went to was utterly clueless on the subject of testosterone. MOST doctors DO NOT understand this, even though they think they do.

SO, I suggest doing your doctor shopping by phone, look for a urologist and focus on erectile dysfunction. If the doc tells yo "testosterone has nothing to do with erections", which most docs will say, that it's a blood flow issue, hang up, and call a different one.

This is a brief summary of my own experience, hope it helps.

They are making it pretty much impossible to Dr shop. Most of them won't even talk to you over the phone. They want you to come in, do the tests, and then they'll tell you want they are willing to do. I'm done with that shit. I remember when my surgeon referred me to Pain Management people. They treated me like a dirt bag even over the phone and made it a point to tell me they won't do pain pills only injections... so I said I had already had 5 sets of injections and that is why I was referred to them. She got all shifty with me and said "well we don't hand out pain pills". At that point I said forget it and told them to cancel my appointment and not to call me again.
I had a really cool Doctor for years, but he decided treating car accident people was more money for less hassle. Since then I haven't found a Doctor that will shoot me straight about HRT so I don't bother.

Dude, I hear ya. I got, "You don't look like the typical guy who has low testosterone." from my current guy at first. And the endocrinologist was worse.

The bottom line, though, is that doctors are there to serve their patients. In today's medical marketplace, it's become more like a client/provider relationship, really. And if you're an informed client/patient and ask questions and demonstrate your own knowledge, many doctors get upset. Tough shit. If that happens, the appointment is over as is my relationship with that particular doctor.

And you're right, most of them won't talk to you on the phone, but their staff will, and I was able to get enough "interview" questions answered through the staff (which involved a couple of calls, the staff had to ask the doctor my question and call me back with his answer) that I was willing to make an appointment.

I also keep all my own blood work records; I have the lab send them directly to me as well as to the doc. So I show up with all of that history as well. You really have to take charge of the discussion, and manage it the way YOU want it to go. It's not easy, and docs don't like it because they're used to issuing proclimations and sending their patients on their way to follow the "doctor's orders". But after experiencing far too many doctors with their heads up their asses, I'm done with that.

The problem isnt the doctors - it is the insurance companies.

Doctors are pretty much hamstrung by what the insurance companies will pay for, drug-wise, and drs are put under review if their diagnoses are too far off the insurance guidelines.

I think the drug company lobbyists, or marketeers, or whatever they are has a lot to do with it also. Where did the idea that low testosterone has nothing to do with erections come from, for example??? Probably from Pfizer, or whoever makes Viagra, and the Cialis people and the other "-fil" drug makers. I mean, I'm glad they're around, and I use Viagra as needed.... But when my test level is right, IT ISN'T NEEDED!!! And I've had three general practitioners, an endocrinologist and a urologist, as well as a few others, tell me that test level has nothing to do with it. They're all getting this disinformation from somewhere....

I'm sure all of these people have been WRONG in their lives plenty of times before saying that. But I assure you, none have EVER been MORE WRONG! LOL!
