John Haack Locks Out 415-Kilogram (915-Pound) Raw Deadlift PR In a Conventional Stance

When John Haack grips a barbell, the world shakes. On Jan. 30, 2023, the all-time raw world record holder in the deadlift in the 90-kilogram class took to his Instagram page to share a video wherein he pulled a 415-kilogram (914.9-pound) deadlift in a conventional stance.That is a new PR for Haack, and it is also five kilograms heavier than his current raw deadlift world record of 410 kilograms (903.9 pounds) from the 2022 World Raw Powerlifting Federation (WRPF) American Pro. His new PR was the last heavy single of his training session. He wore a lifting belt and wrist wraps and pulled using a mixed grip. Check it out below:While the lift appeared somewhat of a grind for Haack, at no point did it seem that he would fail his attempt. Once he grabbed the barbell, it shot straight past his knees before slowing down as his erectors went to work. Once past the knees, his legs visibly shook as the bar moved slow but steady to the lockout.Haack mentioned in the caption of his post that he is training for his upcoming competition, the Ghost Clash. That is presumably the 2023 WRPF Ghost Clash 2 on Feb. 18-19, 2023. It will be his first appearance in a sanctioned meet in 2023.According to Open Powerlifting, Haack competed three times in 2022. He took home the gold in all of them and set five raw world records across two weight classes. Those results were:With less than two weeks between Haack’s new PR and his next sanctioned meet, he is likely close to his competition bodyweight. While he didn’t disclose which weight class he will compete in, his best competition deadlift is the same in the 90KG and 100KG classes. When he steps on the lifting platform at the 2023 Ghost Clash 2, he might step off with yet another raw world record.
