Been working out the majority of my adult life, but I really started to see a change in my mid forties. It took me longer to recover and those little twinges that I use to feel in my shoulders have now become full blown, kick you in the teeth, take no prisoners, Pains. I can no longer go heavy, so I just rep as much as possible.
I am on HRT and that has helped a lot, but I have also had to make huge adjustments in my nutrition and what supplements I can and cannot take. Being a type 2 diabetic, I reviewed my bloodwork with my doc and for some reason I have a history of increased potasiuum levels and decreased levels in sodium. She thought that since I drink on water, I am washing out my sodium. I drink one soda daily and have now cut out all of my cramping and my sodium levels are in the normal range. Doc doesn't want me taking any creatine, nothing that will boost my NO, and no electrolytes due to the potasiuum. So I am doing research on Pre Workouts to see which one will be the best for me.
Getting older sucks, but I am going to keep fighting and kicking. If anyone has any ideas as to a good pre workout with no creatine, no NO expanders let me know. Thinking about going back to old school C4.
