Michael B. Jordan is back in the ring. On Monday, October 17, 2022, the actor took to Instagram to share some information about the upcoming third installment of the Creed franchise.
Along with an announcement of the film’s release date — that’s March 3, 2023 — Jordan published two teaser posters for the film that highlight his physical transformation back into that of professional boxer Adonis Creed.
Check them out for yourself below, and keep reading for some behind-the-scenes insight into what it takes to build a fighter’s physique:

Pictured alongside Jordan is costar Jonathan Majors. Majors (Da 5 Bloods, The Last Black Man in San Francisco) is also enjoying time in the spotlight of the Marvel Cinematic Universe as the galaxy-spanning Kang the Conqueror.
Both men are sporting significant amounts of well-defined muscle mass, particularly in their arms, shoulders, and upper back — a hallmark of intense bodybuilding coupled with a proper diet (not to mention heaps of cardio to power the film’s action sequences).
In Creed III, Majors will star opposite Jordan as Damian Anderson, the film’s presumptive antagonist. Based on the initial reveal, he looks more than ready to tangle with Jordan in the ring.
Michael B. Jordan’s “Creed III” Workouts
For his third venture in the Rocky spinoff series, Jordan once again returned to work with renowned celebrity trainer Corey Calliet. Speaking to BarBend in December 2021, Calliet revealed how he’s helping Jordan become bigger and badder the third time around:
“You don’t need two and a half hours in the gym,” Calliet said regarding his approach to morphing Jordan into a performer that can walk the walk.
Instead, Jordan’s Creed III training is as forceful and precise as the character he portrays:

A conditioning-focused workout in the morning.
Boxing practice around midday.
Weight lifting or another cardio session in the evening.

Much like a real fighter does in the ring, Jordan is taking aim at a series of short but vigorous workouts instead of one long session per day.

That said, Calliet understands the importance of making both Jordan and Majors look the part. While Jordan maintains a chiseled, lean physique year-round, it appears that Calliet has been hard at work helping Majors bulk up.
“You’re going to see two warriors,” Calliet says of his intent for how the men will ultimately look on screen.
Blow for Blow
There’s also been some growth behind the camera for Jordan since he last put on the gloves. While the award-winning franchise’s first two installments were directed by Ryan Coogler and Steven Caple Jr., respectively, Jordan himself will serve as both III‘s director and lead actor.
With Calliet in his (and Majors’s) corner, though, it appears that he’ll be more than physically ready for whatever challenges lie ahead.
Creed III rings the third-round box office bell on March 3, 2023.
