BF% and Water Retention

When you are using gear and maintaining a fair amount of water will this change the BF% reading if you are using the caliper method?

It seems to me that the excess water retention will make your skin thicker and 'trick' the caliper into reading that you have more fat content that you actually do.

Thoughts?

Good thinking...
I think that i'm full of excess water , and not so much fat , but the fat percentage thingy that checks your BF tells me high BF , I think not.
Sue the fuckers.:D

LOL, sueing may be a bit extreme :D

A year ago I measured in at 11% (I was bulking).

I know I am much less than that now, 8-9% range.

But she measured and said I was at 11 still. I have to assume it is due to water retention.

I will check it post-cycle water loss and see what it reads.

absolutely....I look leaner in the morning before I eat and am a little dehydrated than I do at night after 4500 calories and nearly 2 gallons of water.

yes, carrying a lot of water could very well throw off the readings

Here is a first hand example...going into the week of comp I was pinching right around 4's 5's most places.....after dropping all 11 lbs of water I dropped roughly 1 to 2 pts ont he calipers
