Lifting Post-BA

I don't know how many girls are on the site right now, but I've heard mixed reviews on this one, so I figured I'd throw the question out here to anyone who might read...

I just had a breast augmentation this past Tuesday, so I can't work out for a couple of weeks. I should have clearance to do some light cardio in a week or two, but no lifting for approximately 6 weeks (I was told). Just wondering how long other people waited...

I know I need to take it easy and focus on healing for now, but I also want to get back into a routine as quickly and safely as possible. I know it's different for different people and that following the surgeon's orders is a good idea, but I'm just trying to get an idea.

Ideally, I'd like to be back in the weight room right after New Year's. If you or someone you know had one, how long before you/they were lifting normally again?

Thanks in advance!

Hi Stephaniewicked! I can't answer this question from personal experience but when my Mom and Sister went for their consultation the Doctor advised them to refrain from strenuous activities and exercise for at least a month to allow proper healing and so forth. As you already know recovery time is different for everyone. I would go by Doctor's orders and how you feel...you know your body best.

Thanks, SF! I expect to be out for a month at a minimum... I'd really like to kick it back up come to new year. I appreciate you sharing (what you know about) your mom and sister's experiences!

I actually went in for a consultation to get BA. Presser and I even went in with the cash to pay for it in full...but I got scared away. Only because the doctor suggested implants that were way too big for my body at the time. Sometimes I wish I went through with them though. Do you like yours?

It's only been one week, but to say that I am in love with them is an understatement. I honestly never considered getting them until I started working out and lost a great deal of volume that left me feeling really unhappy and self-conscious. :(

How many doctors did you consult with? I met with two... the first one I found in my area through the American Society for Plastic Surgeons website. Then my friend's mom recommended her PS who performed other procedures on her. The second PS and his staff were SO much more friendly than the first, so I stopped searching and scheduled my surgery with them.

Where in NJ are you? I'm in central, near New Brunswick area. If you want, feel free to PM me and I can share that info with you!

I told my PS what size I wanted and when I returned for my pre-op appointment, I brought in photos of what I liked, so he had a better idea of my expectations... and with that, the decision was made to go up another 25cc per implant. He made recommendations, but was never pushy and took my preferences into consideration when finalizing a size. I'm very happy with the way everything turned out and recovery has been a piece of cake!

Hi again....Its been awhile since I've been on..busy, busy, busy..............anyhow I'm from South Jersey about 15 mins from Philadelphia and 45 mins from Atlantic City. I went to Dr. Watts. That was the only consultation I went to. My sister and Mom had theirs done by him and the results were nice.

Thanks for wanting to share your doctor info. I'm ok with what I have now. But if I change my mind in the future I will PM you for the info.
