Hey Ladies,

I am new to the forum and would like to introduce myself. I have a 15 month old boy (Morgan his name). Thats probably how long it's been since I worked out also. I did work out while pregnant and that hlped out alot. I'm really having trouble now. before baby size 5. Now size 8. I have all these clothes to wear and just can't do it. How depressing. I'm ready to get back into shape FINALLY!!!!! My husband is also a member to the website and he goes by hector. Now he is a bodybuiler. Me not so much, just would like to look good again so maybe he has something to brag about again. And then of course I would feel better again. So Hello ladies, look forward to asking you alot of questions.

1. Where to start??? Is my first question....:wave:
 
Welcome, doll! I'm a member at a bunch of other boards, but since they re-added the female section here, I decided to check in and see if any ladies are around!

Having the drive to want to get fit again is a good place to start and it sounds like you've got that down! What's your diet like? Do you belong to a gym? If not, what is your plan to get active again?
 
Well I have some weights here at home. And I love doing yoga, cardio. See i have a daycare that I run from 6am - 6pm. Then come home and bathe Morgan and play and dinner. By the time i get done with that i am so tired. So I have Comcast Cable and they have lots of fitness yoga and cardio on there. I was thinking of starting there. My husband does work with when i am willing. He works out 6 days out of week. How to schedule work outs with time to rest.
 
Well, first you should establish an ideal time when you could dedicate to working out. Could your husband watch the baby for an hour or so in the evenings so that you could use that time on yourself? After running a daycare for 12 hours, the "me" time would probably be good for you anyway.

I work FT and go to school FT and manage to get to the gym a few times a week (late at night), and on weekends. Start slow and get yourself into a routine. Watch what you eat and track your meals on a free site like fitday.com or sparkpeople.com, if you can. Try to consume lots of lean proteins, moderate carbs and low fat.

Can you take the baby for walks in the stroller? It's pretty cold where I am in the northeast, so that may not be an ideal solution this time of year, but if you have someplace where you could do that, that would be another way to spend time with him and still get some activity in.
 
Thanks so much for your Advice. Me time would be great...... Do you ever have trouble sleeping at night after working out after 6pm?? what to help with that??
 
I always have trouble falling asleep. I'm either working or at school 12 hours a day, so I don't get to work out until 10pm. I take my SuperPump around 9.15-9.30pm so that doesn't help because then I'm even more wired. I go to bed around 2am and get up at 7.30am, 5 days/week. It's just one of those sacrifices you have to make...
 
yeah we do, my wife is here and will be steady here, but we do need more females, i shouldnt have closed down this forum for so long, theres litterly loads of great info already posted so hopefully the females come back, and hopefully those here will invite others,

we are also looking for female reps

Smiley, I know that depressed feeling about having all that clothes that just doesn't fit anymore. I'm in the same boat. Making the time to squeeze in a workout session is extremely important. There are days when I feel like I just don't have it, but I push through. After it's done and over with I feel great. Stephaniewicked gave great advice--Eat lean protein, start reducing your simple carbs and cut back on fat. I would keep a log of what you eat. It really makes you aware of how much and what you consume each day. Also keeping a log can help you to know where your diet needs tweaking.

Comcast does have a nice selection of workouts and that is a start. Maybe your husband could show you a few exercises you can do with your weights. I'm real big on free weights to build muscle....the more muscle you have the more fat you will burn.

Me? Having trouble falling asleep at night.....NEVER!! I'm out as soon as my head hits the pillow. I get up at 5am get to work at 7:20, home by 3:15pm and go to bed some time between 11 and 12 am. I'm beat at nite!!!

Thanks so much for the replies. Always a lot of help. Today was day 2 of my workouts. Abs are feeling sore. For females, How often a week should we doing ab workouts??? Is it ok for abs to be added in to all or should your abs have more resting time??? I am waking up 45 mins earlier to work out before leaving for work. So it's not crunching into my night with my Husband and baby.

When I was really dedicated to my abs I would work them everyday....at first they were really sore so I would give them rest time. But as I continued to work I began training them more frequently until it got to the point where I worked them everyday.
