I'm having one of those days where I just don't want to do anything, including going to the gym. What do you guys do to make yourselves go?

Just find out why you dont want to go, over training is one of the most frequent reasons, and if you think so, it is nothing wrong to take a few days of, 5 to 7 days is recomended and your come back will be insane after your let your body recover (muscular and nervious system) and all the nutrients went to your muscles.
Take care

I second what norm said. I know if I skip a day, I end up beating myself up for it. Even if I know I'm overtraining and need the rest I still have to mentally stop myself from feeling like I'm a lazy bum for not going. I guess I just hold myself to high standards and push myself to be the best I can be and I think of that when I don't want to go and I just force myself to go.

I drink myself into a coma...

nah, I usually try to get out and do something. For me it's generally when I've got a lot on my mind and plate. Things start weighing me down and I decide to just veg out for awhile b/c it's easier to do that than even think about all of the crap I have to do. Only thing that gets me going is setting one task to do and getting it done. Then I find #2, and so on.

When I feel that way I usually take that day off as well as a few more if needed. During the time I would be lifting I try to sleep. After those days off I want to get back in the gym so bad my next workout is usually awesome.

I get like that alot myself. I take caffeine, but know you don't do that. LOL. I agree though about the over training as mentioned. I love to workout but when I push too much I get where it becomes a burden and I know Im overtraining.

Just take the day off and do something else you enjoy...Your CNS is probably fired, and needs a mental break from the gym for a few days

I hope not. I haven't had the flu since I was a kid. It does feel like I'm "running in front of the big truck about to mow me down" though. I'm trying to dodge it.

couple days off might be good then. Last week i tried to burn through it, and i ended up stuck in bed for the next 3 days...

I usually think of how good I'll feel when I'm done. I have had some of my best workouts when I draged my self to the gym. Once I got
started I felt great. Other times if I cant get into it I'll do something easy and totally different - like light sets of 50 just to shock the
muscle and pump it up or some lighter supersets just to keep the blood flowing. It is sometimes tough to tell if it is your body telling you
to take a break or your mind just getting lazy.

I usualy tell myself its ok not to go, and that im probably growing more without going, lmao
