I dunno if it burns more fat, maybe because our body is struggling to remove heat as fast as possible. Im more afraid of my hands slipping and dropping a weight on something important.klowndog said:Staying hydrated is definitely key. I drink ice water between each set. Doesn't sweating profusely burn fat also? I know that it cleans your system out, but I though it burned fat too. I use the sauna at my gym, and I sweat just as much working out in the garage. Heat stroke ain't nothin nice though.
Azmodeus said:I can't stand working out when it's too hot. There was an interesting piece in this months Muscular Development (page 88) about why exercise is more difficult in high temperatures. Basically metabolism works best at temps slightly above normal (98.6). When you begin to overheat metabolism becomes inefficient so the body attempts to cool itself by diverting blood to the skin and sweating. Unfortunately this blood is no longer available to deliver oxygen to the exercising muscles which causes fatigue. Also, high temps in the brain disturb the capacity to contract muscles which also causes fatigue.
So the moral of the story is to tell them to turn on the AC so you can get the best workout possible.

klowndog said:Hell yeah you need to get a mob of disgruntled powerlifters juiced up on test prop, take him in the locker room and tie his ass up to a bench. let him sit there and sweat it out while he thinks about for a little bit.
