You cant let someone who's gonna make the choice of robbing a hardworking citizen decide whether or not to let you go free or to kill you in a situation like that. If you do you might as well just lay down on the ground while you give away all your freedoms. Hows it any different if some other country invaded and said we are gonna take your shit at gun point.. its not fuck those turds.

It worked for Charles Bronson!

1. Most people freeze when in a siuation like that. The few that do not freeze usually miss.
2. Castle Doctrine is a Criminal DEFENSE. It is open to interpretation and definately doesn't save you from being charged or convicted. Think of it like the insanity defense.
3. The Castle Doctrine has no bearing on a Civil case.

You need to really know the laws in your area, but family and life are always number 1. I sure as hell wouldn't shoot someone for breaking into my car..... and I have a 50K car. That being said, if I or my family were in "immenant danger" the person or people causing the situation would meet a very quick death. No warning shots, no wounds, no verbal commands. But again, KNOW YOUR LAWS AND DEFINITIONS!!

When my car got broken into, the cops showed up and told me that they would of shot the guy and put a screwdriver or something in his hand to make it look like they had good enough reason to shoot they guy (if they caught him breaking into his car)

About a year later, right across the street from where they broke into my car the first time, a cop did catch a guy breaking into his car, shot and killed him, and never got charged with anything because of the Castle Doctrine.

yea, cops get away with alot of stuff. Dont seem to really mind in that case though,

I'm sure there is more to that. I'm not telling you what to do, just advising you to think it through... risk vs. Benefit. If you or someones life is in danger then game on, but we all know how some people get "made an example of" I don't want it to be you. That being said I caught a guy breaking into my car 8 years ago in the parking lot of Gold's Gym. I fractured his orbital and maxillary bones, broke his tibia, and dislocated his shoulder. When cops got there they wanted to know why he was unconscious, I said he attacked me when I caught him in the act. I almost had charges brought against me. The kid was convicted on 16 counts of Veh Burg and ordered to pay me $1500 in restitution. I haven't gotten a cent. Don't take a chance with your freedom for scumbags. Courts let them go the next day anyway.

Thanks bro.. and no, I would never just shoot someone if i saw them breaking into my car, but if I felt anyone is in danger especially my family, then im gonna empty the clip

This is an interesting thread. I have a gun at my house because I hunt and I don't even have any shells. If I did and someone broke in and tried to hurt my family I would probably just shoot. Like someone else said I don't think you would rationalize if you looked up and someone was going in your kids room. You would just react. I would never kill anyone I didn't have to but if you mess with my peeps I make no promises.

Breaking into my house is a different story!! I don't give a shit what a person's intent was to break into my house. I see a stranger in my house and they are dead. No questions. There are so many possible horrifying crimes someone may have the intent or develop the intent after breaking into a house that it would be several center mass shots and a head shot. Game Over

There is no such thing as a "warning shot" or "wounding shot" in my book. It's one shot, one kill. If you are invading my space and I feel threatened, you will die. It's as easy as that.
I had one of my guys commence on giving a warning shot once... it got him killed. He put two round in the guys thigh... the guy rolled over after hitting the ground and got a lucky shot off, striking my guy in the head. (Before he could get a second shot off, he had another 13 rounds in him.) From that point on, nobody pulled any warning shots.
Not to mention, too many criminals who don't get killed are back at it again as soon as they are released from jail. I remember about 15 years ago, an elderly couple who lived on the next street over was getting robbed as they came home; they foiled the burglary by calling the cops before they went in their house. About a year later, that same guy robbed and killed the old lady who still lived there. Fortunately, he left DNA evidence behind at the scene and was apprehended at a later date.

i agree with leather, a violent criminal always reoffends...even worse than the first time. there is only one solution. im proud that my state executes more murderers than the other 49 combined. i only wish every state did

Gotta love this law....This happened last night:

Man allegedly tried to break into store

Jackson police were trying Sunday night to identify a burglary suspect who was shot and killed while allegedly trying to break into a grocery store.

The shooting occurred in the back of Gipson's Discount Foods, 1434 U.S. 80 in west Jackson.

About 4:50 p.m., police responded to a call of a man being shot at the business, Jackson Police Department Assistant Chief Lee Vance said.

The grocery store is closed on Sundays.

"Our preliminary investigation shows the deceased was attempting to break in when a resident living inside shot and killed him," Vance said.

The suspect, who did not have any identification, was carrying a large knife and a handgun, Vance said. He was shot when he reached for one of the weapons.

Police found the suspect dead near the rear door.

Hinds County Coroner Sharon Grisham-Stewart said the suspect was shot once in the chest with a shotgun.

She said she hopes finger prints will be able to help identify the suspect, who is believed to be in his mid-20s.

The death is the city's 28th homicide.

Police are not releasing the name of the shooter because he is not expected to be charged.

No chance of a hand gun over here in the UK. I was tempted to try and get either a tazer or some protective spray, but these are also classed as illegal over here, booohooo, lol
