How many of you have started having trouble sleeping as you have grown bigger and heavier? What did you do to combat it?

Well, I have always had trouble sleeping, but I don't think it's gotten worse since I've grown. My problems stem from an ankle surgery that still gives me chronic pain which makes it difficult to sleep. I haven't found anything that consistently helps. I've tried Tylenol PM, Melatonin, Seroquel, Trazadone, etc. Sometimes it works, sometimes not. I have pretty much given up now and pretty much just toss and turn until I finally fall asleep. :(

What have you tried so far? If you find a good solution I would love to try it.

I used to weigh a lot more (255) and I never really had trouble sleeping. I would usually eat and then fall asleep like a fat little baby. Anytime I can't sleep though is because I can't stop my mind from racing about things that stress me out. I'll wake up in the middle of the night with my heart pounding.

hey bro my doctor prescribed me trazadone about 3 weeks ago, and i been taking 50mg the past 3 weeks before bed, i noticed at first it made my head congested, did it do that to u as well, and it isnt as bad now 3 weeks later however in the beginning it helped me get tired but again 3 weeks into it i can take the pill at night and still not fall asleep,. i just wanted to know how u like it, and if u had any problems coming off of it like addiction wise?

I also cam home after he prescribed it to me to look it up online to see what it is realy used for mainly, the reason for this is because the last thiing before the trazadone my doctor gave me was actualy mainly used to help prevent bed wetting, lmao, and i forget what that was called but he presrcibed it for sleep and it wore off, so after looking up what trazadone is for and after asking a friend i find that they are actualy anti-depressants which pissed me the fuck off cause i always told myself i would never use that type of shit

anyways how did u like the trazadone and were they hard to come off

Yeah, it is techinically an anti-depressant, but I asked my Dr about that and she told me that even though that may be what it is designed for, it works better for sleep problems. She said it's not uncommon for a drug to be designed for something, but actually be better for treating something else.

Anyway, I didn't really like it and I no longer take it. If it did work, I would feel totally out of it in the morning. But half the time I would take it and still not be able to fall asleep, just like you said. I didn't have any trouble coming off of them, but I don't really have an addictive personality. I quit smoking cigarettes cold turkey, and quit several other substances cold turkey without any problems. Just strong willed I guess. But it should be ok, my Dr told me they are not supposed to be addictive.

I came to the conclusion that it's not worth all the money for prescriptions and Dr visits to keep trying things that don't work so I just deal with it no. :upset:

i just started smoking pot, and wow, it works great for putting me to sleep, and kicks my usually pathetic appetite into overdrive!

The only sleep aid I have used is Tylenol PM because I don't want to become dependent on other sleep aids. If I have to go on something like Lunesta or Ambien, then I'll have to try it.

I haven't tried either one of those. If you try it and either one works let me know. I might try it if it has a good recommendation.

Also, maybe try Melatonin, it worked pretty well for a couple weeks.

lmao, you poor bastard! the only thing i hate about it is it makes me really fucking lazy, lol. Well if pot keeps you up, then definately dont mix lsd with shrooms and extacy....... you'll never sleep, incase you were wondering, lol

For those of you that take tylenol PM change to simply sleep its in the same isle as the pm. Its got Diphenhydramine without the painkiller so it isnt liver toxic like tylenol pm all it is is basically like benadryl but cheaper. Just an antihistimine that has a strong side effect as drowsiness. I take it regularly and it works like a charm for me. I take it and im out in about an hour gives me perfect time to catch one of my shows on my DVR.

I have taken Ambien before and its the shit. I never slept so good in my life.

My biggest problem is that my hand fall asleep when I sleep. I find that I normally wake up after one REM Cycle and take a piss. I often, as in almost every night have one or both of my hands asleep at this time. Feeling quickly returns to my hands and I can fall right back to sleep and when I wake up in the morning they are asleep once again.

for the last 5-6 years i've been sleeping like crap....getting up every hour and half to go to the bathroom and i'm sure i wake up slightly to roll over about 20 times a night.....honestly i don't do anything except complain about it....i should probably look in melatonan or something though soon before i age

well, im 265 right now. The only real problem i have is my arms keep falling asleep and I wake up feeling like they're going to fall off. I switch to the other side and wake up a couple hours later with the other arm totally dead. I initially thought it was cause of high blood pressure, but my bp is normal now and im totally off gear. So im thinking its cause of the muscle development, or because i have so much scare tissue in my delts that blood doesnt flow as well.

Anyway, i dont have to work, so i can sleep in longer. Right now its not a big deal.

One more thing, I used to have sleeping problems. I found that taking 2x the amount of melatonin in otc form works wonders. You do have to try to calm down, but there is no sleep aid hangover in the morning.

I have real bad tendinitis in my elbows, so sleeping is really hard. Hard to get comfortable and my elbow pain wakes me up a few times a night. If i know i cant sleep i usually take 2x ambien cr and maybe a xanax if its real bad.

Having sex or jerking off usually helps me fall right to sleep. I wonder if it would work as well if I let her do some of the work. lol

I used to smoke just about everyday to help me sleep (yeah right) but im with h8tred on this one it makes me one lazy mofo and I don't like that haha but thats just dro with some reggie I can still function throughout the day.
