this is an interesting video...(same guy as the 1000lbs bench press, fail) for one, when he does 445lbs for 5 reps...it looks like he could hardly get the reps at 445lbs...then 600lbs looks shaky as hell...but 800lbs looks halfway decent (not saying he isnt strong or I got anything on him..LOL) ... Also, why is his bench shirt on half way...??? what is the deal with that... ???

because the tighter the shirt, the more rubber band effect.

Im not impressed at all, the shirt gives him hundreds of pounds...Hell one of us could have a suit with hydraulic arms attached and lift 2000lbs, but what good does it do??

The spotter tells him to "send a message"...

I just dont understand the whole "shirted" type style of lifting, IMO its pointless, I know there is much debate over Raw versus this, and I side with Raw everytime, to me this just looks stupid.

Thanks for posting though Chris.

I have a decent bench.and was closing on on 500 before I injured myself at 450 Anyway I.was tutored and mentored by Chris Duffin NW posers lifting champion, ill post up.some of his videos pretty amazing stuff especially as he weighs in at about 210lb

Dont wear a shirt, moving weight 5 inches is pointless.

Wearing a.shirt and the use of boards chains and power lifting bands are all just part a power liters arsenal in breaking plateaus and training so very important and I have incorporated all these techniques in my own quest. So bottom line is that no those lifts do not count by they are important tools to abtaining your best raw lift

I disagree...

Hows that? Please elaborate

Dont know a single power lifter Olympic or other that doesnt use

shirts, power-lifting bands, chains boards and of course the Power Rack NONE

Infact its part of their training period bro

Now this is done with class and he is the man

Heavy weight no doubt but when wearing a bench shirt, I don't think so.... Plus didn't even go all the way down and touching the top of your fat stomach doesn't count. Looks like some of the clowns in my gym when trying to bench 315. Sorry, but just not a fan of the bench shirt and it doesn't make you stronger.

No he didnt go all the way down,

It was bad form and he is a fat mofo who was using a shirt that was way to small for him, also the idea of the shirt is to protect the joints as they work in the 3 rep range and your gonna get hurt

Anyway watch this not sure why i can embed

This guys is the real deal :)

Allen Baria - Bench Press 405 lbs X 25 reps 500 lbs X 10 reps (RAW)

but he trains with a shirt too as do all power lifters
