Will they??

With all the World Issues on the agenda right now, economy, health care, rampant world issues, banks collapsing, mideastern turmoil, even real drug use such as heroin and cocaine...

How is it that Steroids has emerged as a "major concern"..People talk about long term consequences, well where the fuck are concerns for alcohol, cigarettes, and other things that are accepted legally, have NO valid medical use, and kill people by a rate you can measure by the minute??

Will the US finally realize that this is a fucking witch hunt, like the finally realized that the real "witch hunts" were just that...

What reasons do you, or do you not believe that our Government will take its head out of it's ass and legalize steroids...And if so, what type of time frame do you think we are looking at??

General friendly discussion here fellas, please no flaming or hating anyones opinion, Im curious about this, should be a good discussion, lets hear it

I'd say never, NEVER and NEVER ...Never has it been legal to have or use steroids, unless perscribed by a doctor...and it never will be...Maybe one day, doctors will be more open to AAS use, but that is a long time from now...

I don't see them being legalized at any point in the future because they do, when abused, lead to serious health problems. Additionally, they don't appeal to the masses in the way tobacco and and alcohol do (or did). However, I do believe it's very probable that they will be decriminalized at some point in the next 20-40 years.

I've always wondered about this myself. I think if we have someone as strong-headed as Mr. Joe Biden (or stronger) to lobby to declassify anabolic steroids, it may happen after he is out of office. He has too much pull as the Vice President for it to go through while he's in office, however, now is the perfect time for the lobbying to start since the process takes that long. The nice thing is that we have his own admission that he pushed the legislation in part because he felt he was "wronged" by a bigger, stronger athlete in college whom he _assumed_ was on steroids.

I feel that just declassifying them would be as much as we could get from the start. Penalties wouldn't be anywhere near as severe. Completely legalizing them? Well, like Nair said, maybe in 20-40 years unless the education really gets out there. There are a lot more people getting into fitness, building muscle, keeping themselves young, etc., and using steroids can help them, but education is key here.

No. Not here. Pharmacies stand to make more money by controlling them legally, pharmacies, as I have repeatedly stated run this country

I'm pretty sure in 20-40 years the steroids we know of today will be long gone.. Greater genetic modification drugs will be around and humans will be walking around 300pounds ripped!

Actually this is so far from the truth. Ive been a pharmacist for 8 years. Actually pharmacies lose money on some meds due to insurance etc. The pharmacy could care less about steroid usage. Ill tell you why. Novo's GH cost us 1100 per pack to order and have shipped in. The sale price of said product is 1280. So ~15% profit. We make more profit % wise on albuterol, as well as sell way more.

Blame your drug companies, your doctors, and 50+ year old politicians with old conservative views. To think a pharmacy has any influence is absurd...Drug and insurance companies run this country....Thats why health care costs so much

I find it hard to imagine so. If if becomes clear that androgens are health enhancing in older men and can provide measurable meaningful savings as far as health costs then maybe we could see a more positive public opinion. However, in the medical community we still see doctors that advocate for treatments like TRT are shunned and barred from practice. So still acceptance or decriminalization is not likely in the near future.

I am talking about drug companies.... aka the pharmacies, I dont mean the pharmacies like at publix and walgreens and the corner RX store, im talking about the people who make them, look at Frost's house in Miami, u live in Fl so next time u take a trip down there check it out, or google it, he was the president of a pharm company, they dont lose money, and they have a shit ton of power in this country, I think u took what I said out of context thinking I was speaking about little pharmacies, or how much ppl pay for a med in the hospital, totally different from the big picture. How big is this pack of GH u are talking about? u really dont think the Pharm making that 1200 dollar pack is making a 400% profit????

I think it is going the same route as marijuana. They tried for so many years to vilify marijuana that it is impossible now to make people understand that it is not a deadly toxin. They are now trying to blame anything and everything on steroids. So, just follow the path of marijuana...if it becomes legal sometime in the future, then there is hope for steroids. But, it is like NAIR said, it would be 20-40 years in the future.

I think part of the reason of weed getting held back is the mexican cartel killing officials, bc they would stand to lose quite a bit of money

Metal I think we are on 2 different pages. Drug companies are not pharmacies. Sorry we are crossed at that...I work as a pharmacist and i own my own nutritional company as well. When people in the industry say pharmacy, they are referring to walgreens, publix, etc. Drug company profit is huge, and i mean huge. An ex of mine is the regional head for pfizer. Her bonus was more than my entire salary last year...quite a bit more...and i totally agree drug companies are a major part of the problem.

Weed will never be legal in all 50 states either. The fed govt wont allow that without having a way to collect tax on all of it. Simply no money for them, means no purple kush and pineapple express legally for you...

haha thats good at the end, glad were on the same page now, and I would say I cant believe that huge of a bonus but makes perfect sense, she was pretty rich, u must make around 100k correct

I think Metal85 meant "pharmaceutical company" when he said "pharmacy." Close words but different meaning. Drug companies are definitely the huge problem here.
