Operation Raw Deal Still Sending Steroid Dealers to Prison

Operation Raw Deal, the 2007 steroid bust billed by the DEA as “the largest steroid enforcement action in United States history”, is still sending individuals to prison for steroid-related crimes. Warren Abramson was sentenced to three years in prison after pleading guilty in January 2011 to five charges related to the distribution of anabolic steroids and the possession of unregistered firearm silencers.

Abramson was the owner and operator of the underground lab (UGL) named “LuxTech” which was busted back in 2007. For unknown reasons, a grand jury didn’t indict Abramson until June 2010. Abramson was a fugitive for almost three months before he was arrested in Las Vegas attempting to purchase a firearm.

In 2006 and 2007, defendant, through his steroid distribution company, LUXTECH, offered anabolic steroids for sale on the internet and sent vials of anabolic steroids to drug customers.

On September 20, 2007, in Los Angeles County, within the Central District of California, defendant knowingly possessed approximately 6403.9 grams of anabolic steroids, a Schedule III controlled substance. Defendant possessed the 6403.9 grams of anabolic steroids with the intent to deliver them to another person. Indeed, the 6403.9 grams of anabolic steroids possessed by defendant constituted a total of 246, 156 dosage units of a Schedule III controlled substance, as defined by the Sentencing Guidelines.

Further, in September 2007, defendant knowingly and intentionally leased, rented, used and maintained a place [in] Compton, California for the purpose of manufacturing and distributing controlled substance, including anabolic steroids.

The sentence was favorable given the size of the UGL (in terms of dosage units under federal sentencing guidelines), the involvement of firearms and the apparent attempt to flee prosecution

Well I am assuming he was a domestic USA dealer, and if thats the case then it was simply just a matter of time! I mean theres no way you can sell steroids over the internet and not get caught! Now if its an overseas dealer then yeah i can see the risk/reward . But your crazy to think you can sell gear domesticly and not get caught!

However its still a dam shame the guy is going to prison!

Probably just get a misdemeanor. I can't see them making too big of a deal about 2 bottles especially if you're not selling. Most of the busts seem to be on the dealers

Nah not if its ur first offense and you get a lawyer, now if u dont get a lawyer or if u use a public defender then yeah ur fucked, but with a decent lawyer you wont get a felony charge, but you may lose your drivers liscence depending on ur state laws for any type of possesion, but probation is most likely what you would get for a couple bottles as asked above and without the felony charge with a decent lawyer

he got a lawyer and got away with just 3 years of probation

shithead called me crying about it, I told him he was the luckest SOB if that's all he got

BTW she didn't testify so all charges were dropped except the possession

Yeah they got me with Possession, they tried for intent, but I laughed and told me public defender that it's only 50mgs a shot, and that in no way could I make out on that. He just looked at me with a blank look, I was dead serious too! It was Mexican piss anyhow, and they BS I had to deal with to get it, and the BS after I got popped was enough for me to hate the shit for life, Mexican gear that is.

The courts and lawyers don't understand how much one person actually needs for a a cycle so if you've got your whole cycle ready at the jump and they come in and see that, they'll definitely think you're distributing because of their ignorance. It's like they understand that an 8 ball of cocaine is probably for personal use, but 20 bottles of test, this, that and 250 pills can't be just for one person over a 3 month period or whatever, that has got to be distribution

exactly. That is the first thing I think of when they state what the street value is of the seized products.

Street value is priced as if you buy it per tab or per bottle, not taking into consideration that most people buy in bulk or buy at wholesale prices these days. When someone is sitting on 50 bottles, he didn't pay more than $30/bottle of anything I'm sure and they mark it at over $100 and blow it completely out of proportion

Most deff, that why you wont even find a lose stopper,flip top or crimper a 1000yrds from me at all times. Personal use could take a massive turn for the worse.
I'd rather battle with Possession, then a rack of milti charges.

2-3 years ago I found a old shoe box of stoppers and flip tops stashed away, and I moved a few times too, how they got lost in the sauces God only knows. They went bye-bye with-out hesitation.
