I know I'm a bit of a freak, but I like weird stuff.

They are Ghost Mantids. They're from Asia. Pretty bad ass and they eat fruit flies and crickets. Watching them catch them and eat them alive is so much fun!

At first I thought it was some kind of scorpion, but then I saw the second pic. Pretty cool and I bet it is fun watching them eat

I don't think I'll be doing any of that Lol.. I hear it can be a pain since the female has the tendency to tear the head off the male and eat him. I have 4, but they're still juveniles. Most of the enthusiasts keep them in small containers individually. I have all 4 in a big planted terrarium. It's a pain to feed them sometime since they wait for stuff to come to them.

this has to be the strangest shit ever, my wife just looked these up yesterday on the computer and showed me, cause we have a bunch of green and brown ones out in our garden and I guess when she was looking them up she came across the ghost one and she made it a point to show it to me and then i see you post this, very very weird!

And these fuckers arent afraid of anything, we had 2 on our glass storm door crawling around and i took video of it on my phone, pretty weird

How long have you lived in Asia? Can you do show and tell and add photo for all to see? Maybe you can sell mc mantids with Wvs swag he's working on..

I live in Fl. I got them from a breeder. There not really expensive if you do it that way. It was $30 for all 4. If you buy them from a store they're like $50 a piece.
They only eat live food. A few times I put food in the cage, but alot of it gets away. Two of them like me and look at me when I walk by and will come over to me when I open the cage. They like sitting on me. I usually take them out and they grab food from my hand. As they get bigger I'll be able to give them bigger prey and won't have to worry about it getting away and making a home in the cage

Two of them immediately perk up and walk over to me when I walk up. They like walking on me and grab whatever I put in front of them. The other two chill in the back and actually run away if I try to feed them. I don't know who's a male and who's a female.
I do buy some crazy shit though! I've already got a plan for my other cage so I can set it up for some crocodile newts next weekend. I've been an animal freak since I was 11.
