My Dr is also a bodybuilder and pretty knowledgable in all things related to training. We were talking the other day about how everyone seems to be getting sick and forced to take a bunch of time off at the gym. He said that as long as you don't have aches and pains in the body you can train. I asked about it suppressing the immune system and he had a pretty unique stance. He said that most viruses have to run their course. Depending on the severity, training can help get body temp and heart rate elevated which can speed recovery. Bacterial infections were a different story. He said rest and staying hydrated was the best thing to do.
Any of you train while you're feeling crappy? I've been feeling pretty bad for the last couple of days. I thought it may be a virus so I decided to go do chest today despite feeling pretty crappy. To my surprise I was crazy strong and got an amazing pump! It was t as enjoyable as if I were 100% being as I had to keep blowing my nose and washing my hands and the equipment, but it was the strongest I've been in a couple months
