Thinking of opening a nice gym now

I have my own little set up now, but im getting ready to take it to the next level. I own a tire and mechanic shop now and have about 3-4 acreas that im not using at the moment. Talked it over with a few people and I am thinking of putting a small mini strip here with about 5 rental spots and a nice gym in one area. Our local YMCA is shit, and I have alot of friends and friends of friends who would love just a simple gym in our area. I would do a couple tread mills, bikes, and elipticals but would mainly concentrate on machines and weights all new equipment of course. As for the other spots attached to the buildings I can more than likely ask anywhere from $1500 - $2000 for each rental spot, this will def help cover cost of the building. We are guessing on borrowing somewhere around $200,000-$300,000 to build the building right. Do any of you own a gym at the moment and could give some insight.

it would only cost you $300,000 to build a small strip mall? or 300K for ur gym? I think its a FANTASTIC IDEA to open a small gym and then just build it up! Most gyms make most of their money threw the supplements they sell there, and not through memberships, or membership costs usually cover overhead, then ur supplements are icing on the cake aka profit! lol

I can hook u up with some good vendors if u decide to go that route brutha!

Yeah cost of building is pretty cheap here, the building would be a steal building with a nice brick frontage and windows. As far as the vendors, if and when we do get this built I will def take you up on getting in touch with some of the vendors Pressor

Damn well thats amazing if u can build the small strip for that kind of money! Especially if u can get that type of monthly rent like u mentioned above! Personally I think its a no brainer if you can build it that cheap!
