The supersets will accompany an additional exercise of three or four sets. For example, for shoulders, I'll do the superset and four sets of DB presses. For chest, I'll do the superset and three sets of incline DB presses.
I'm curious why you guys say that you'll only do supersets...
I do supersets for bi's, shoulders and chest.
BI's: barbell curls/incline DB curls: 3 sets
SHOULDER's: upright rows/DB laterals: 3 sets
CHEST: flat bench/flat DB flys: 3 sets
Supersets seem to work well for me, in that it limits the time working out and you get a great pump almost...
I was actually considering dropping the bench press from my chest routine and opt for DB presses and flys strictly. I know a lot of guys choose DB's over BB's out of preference and others choose DB's by default (because they have shoulder issues when using BB's for shoulder and chest work)...
Four working sets on one exercise is overtraining when the total working sets per body part is not more than 10? I'm no pro but that doesn't sound right to me. I don't agree with your defintion of overtraining then. Anyone else care to weigh in on this???
My shoulder routine is as follows:
DB Presses: 1 warmup + 4 working sets
Upright Rows: 3 working sets (superset)
Sitting DB flys: 3 workings sets (superset)
Germaine: I do incline presses with DB for chest. But you brought up a good point about more tricep work...I tend to go a little light...
Does anyone here practice any kind of rule when it comes to being sick (cold, flu, strep throat, etc.) and lifting? Do you skip the workout entirely, do it but don't do your normal routine, do it to it full bore?
I work alone in my basement so spotters really don't work for me.
As for switching it up, I've only been doing this for four weeks...it's not as if I've been in a rut. This is still fairly new to my system. I'm not expecting big gains week in and out but when I can't knock out an extra rep...
All:
I'm only about four weeks into my regimented program (lifting 4 days/week...no more than 6-10 sets per body part). I've made weekly gains on deads, squats, shoulder presses and curls. Bench work seems to be stagnant though. Any idea of what I can do or does chest regularly lag when it...
The only two proven, FDA-approved medications for slowing down/possibly stopping/possibly regrowing a bit in the crown area is Finasteride (found in Propecia and Proscar) and Minoxidil (found in Rogaine). All these medications do essentially is block your DHT receptors (DHT is the culprit in...
