As I approach the 2 Decade mark I've come to realize a number of truths that I've never seen mentioned. Perhaps many only apply to me, but I doubt that. I've been counting grams of protein since age 12. I've brought cans of tuna on dates through High School and College. I have never been out of the gym for more than 10 days or there abouts including my Pec Tear and surgery and Bicep tear and surgery. I'm starting this to organize what I've come to see as universal truths when it comes to training. I'm going to pos these as they come to me. Feel free to post your thoughts, experiences or questions.
1. Genetics play a big role, HOWEVER, in my experience that only applies to those that wish to compete at the highest levels. I've seen guys and girls with pretty average genetics attain some amazing physiques! Training, diet, supplementation, sleep, and a positive mindset will allow anyone to attain a physique that they may not even think possible themselves!
2. Your body will grow how and when it chooses. I'm not talking about putting on 20lbs from a decent cycle, I mean solid physique changing gains. You can provide the building blocks, but everyone seems to "stumble" across a miraculous program that changes their physique completely in a short time and utterly amazes them. In my experience, this isn't your training or anything special you've done. Your body has been given sufficient stimulus and building blocks for an ample period of time and now has chosen to make changes. Ride it out! It's not up to you! It may happen when you are taking a break, dieting for a show, or wanting to put an 1" on your calves. For me it seems to be one or two muscle groups at a time and it has nothing to do with what I want.
