I love most bodybuilders attitude toward muscle growth. "If you wanna see this muscle, you have to do such and such and this angle with this motion". Please get out of your little world of "pump=growth" and open your damn eyes.

Straight up PL'er who cut down. Squats 1000+. Do you think he needs to work his "MEDIAL DELT HEAD"?

I'd also like to see some pix of the people talking shit about PL'ers and their physiques. My guess is that you folks don't look half as good, even with high BF%.....

...and who can foroget Mariusz?

321.jpg

Though he's not a true PL, he trains more like a PL more than any other class of weightlifting....

And another fun fact, the top IFBB pros all have a strong background in PLing....NOTHING will pack on mass like heavy lifting, especially the big 3....

No one's slamming him bro'

He's strong as hell and what he does is extremely impressive. I'm just saying thats not the look I'm going for :)

I don't go for the huge bodybuilder thick back or powerlifter look. I try to stay lean and have a nice "V" shape to my body with cuts and a small waist. Overall fitness with some solid muscle mass. And I do have a pic posted in the members section ;)

hey bro no one is slamming, im actually IMPRESSED! thats why i asked where do the biceps and medial delt heads come from because they got it good. lol

all i do is the big three. mon i only squat. wed i bench with dumbells and do weighted dips (wide grip chest style) followed by side laterals, and MAYBE a tricep exercise. fri i deadlift and barbell row and 3 sets of dumbell curls. thats my basic routine. i train like a powerlifter myself, but i would like to develop my side delts now.

Sorry bro, read your post differently....thought you were being a sarcastic ass, reading back I see what you mean.

Can't get the film cause I'm on dialup. I just started reading this tread and can see the contro. No matter what type of cycle, your waisting your time if you don't throw up heavy power movements into the equation. No way would I ever consider putting the gear stress on my body without taking full advantage of the oppurtunity. Powerlifting can be dangerous as hell but its the only way to get 100% gains out of your gear. I'd never do a cycle just to look leaner. To easy to accomplish that naturally.

i agree. i always take full advantage while on a cycle. but i disagree in that i would do a cycle to get leaner (after ive put on the desired mass) why not stay on a low dose test cycle so you dont lose anything? btw my cycles are test only cycles from now on. im really into basics lol.

can one fully develop the biceps with just deads and rows? because powerlifters dont curl and i dont even think they row but some do. should i take out the curls? i have a hard time believing i will build mass on the bis with just rows. i do feel them being worked but not like when i curl. is this line of thinking wrong? the same for tris. but i only do 1 exercise for bis and 1 for tris.

Test and hard work is actually all that is needed. Its the 190 grain in the mixed drink

took me a long time to figure it out though. i knew about basics but now i really believe that test and hard work is really all thats needed. of course the diet must be in check. i follow a clean diet with a good amount of calories. oats/potatoes for carbs. lean steak, chicken breasts, eggs and protein powder for protein. flax oil for fat. and greens. (dextrose/whey for post workout shake)

who was the last person you saw military pressing 315 that had undeveloped shoulders? i think some assistance work for the bi's can be beneficial if you are getting into bbing but for pure raw mass i deadlift, squat, military press, row and incline/decline bench.

In a few weeks once I'm fully recovered from my forearm injury I'll be doing a 100% Pure Barbell Workout. Won't be touching any machines, dumbbells, cables or anything. Here are some of the exercises I will be doing.

Every Exercise Will Be Done With A Barbell:

Military Press
Stiff Leg/Sumo Dead Lifts
Squats
Good Mornings
Barbell Curls
Bent Over Rows
Shrugs
IFD Bench Press (Incline/Flat/Decline)
Barbell Rows where you load the one side with plates and put the other in a pivot. (Using A Steel Triangle Attachment For Grip)
Rack Chins
Weighted Pull Ups
Weighted Dips
Skull Crushers

Can anyone think of some more exercises I could do with a barbell? I want to do pure barbell work for a few months and it would be nice to have a big list of exercises :) Thanks bro's

If we can get a lot of exercises posted, I'll package it all together nicely and seperate them into muscle groups etc.. and make a new, clean well put together thread with Pure Barbell Workouts.

As if that isn't enough. This bro' isn't exactly huge! WTF! Goes to show size doesn't always = strength and strength can come in small packages!

i'm not sure than pic is real bro', ed coan had a 901 deadlift and he is touted as one of the best powerlifters ever.

looks like he did it off blocks WAY above his knee. i really doubt the legitimacy of that pic.
