Just curious if anyone is training in or for MMA mixed martial arts

I been watching showtimes extreme elite mma and man its been realy good, everyone gets knocked out, lol,

i also seen frank Mir woop on that big ex pro wrestler not long ago, actualy Mir got pounded on until he tapped the beast

i wish brother
im going to the UFC 82 next weekend in Ohio
should be a good time
Im skipping the arnold finals to see it

Damn, that would make for a hell of a weekend! But yeah, I have a few friends that train. I just can't find the time though.

i thai box 6 months outta the year, mostly when the weather is warm.......... kick ass workout, but if your liftin heavy it really takes a toll on ur joints

yeah been training for a while...
haven't done much with it lately been working 60hrs plus

two main styles where thai boxing and submission

anyone that trains (I think) should check out Bas Rutten's Big
Book of Combat... the guy is awesome, cuts to the chase and is very down to earth on his philosophy and training methods

I train when time allows. I am actually devoting more time to being a trainer than a trainee. I have a fighter that I've been working with that is fighting in November in a local venue. Primarily Western boxing and submission wrestling. I believe he will do very well.

yeah sounds like he is sound western boxing and some form of ground fighting goes well...ala, Vitor Belfort :lurk:

i boxed as a kid (my Dad was a cop) and then started taking martial arts as a teenager, in my twenties I focused on Mui Thai and jujitsu but for the past 10 years I've gone back to the basics and use boxing to get my cardio done which is primarily road work. If I was younger I would seriously consider picking it up because I have taken all the foundamentals over the years growing up in the Bronx didn't hurt either.

yeah my buddy did.. then he got his ass handed to him so he doesnt anymore

lol, thats funny, is your buddy realy you bro? lol, come on u can tell us,lol

been doing no gi jiu jitsu for almost a year now and I love it. Part of the time striking and takedowns are worked in a vale tudo type training. No big plans with it, just enjoy doing it.

I'd love to get back into fighting shape but maybe I'll just keep putting weight on until I can Sumo. Is Sumo considered a Martial Art?
