Anyone else use straps for just about every back exercise?

Am i the only one? I use them for lat pull downs, seated rows, bent overs, y ou name it i use them. If i dont i find myself pulling too much with just my arms because of gripping, when i use straps i can consentrate so much more on just using my back. Just thought i would see who else felt this way.

You mean wrist straps right? I was thinking about getting some. It always seems that the muscle I'm trying to work is stronger than what my forearms can hold on to so my forearms tire out before I can work the target muscle....

for a long period i used them. I actually would wear through them, and eventually have to buy new ones. But at some point, i stopped buying them... no real reason.

I've often wondered if i could add weight to my back exercises if i did start again. I dont know though. I think right now, if i cant hold on to it, I cant get many good reps with it anyway.....

yeah thats exactly what im talking about and for that reason. My grip is strong as hell carrying around metal all my life with my job. I just cant get the muscle control that i can with straps on so i wear them anytime on back except for rack pulls then when i get above 450 or so i gotta strap up. Cant get that high right now so dont have to worry haha.

Yeah well thats not my real reason. I can hold the weight it just seems i dont get the full squeeze good rep that i would if i had straps on.

I actually bought a gyro ball to try and strengthen my forearms. It seems like it could work, but will probably take time...I felt like wrist straps were cheating myself but I'm impatient so I might resort to using them and see how it works.

do you do deadlifts or anything? Use one day out of the week after say bi's and tri's and go over to the power rack set the pins at a decent height like middle quads or so. Load up the bar and just pick it up with your grip, hold for 30 count then sit down. Add weight repeat for 4 sets or so once a week and your grip will get better. Be sure to go damn near as heavy as you can.

Your back is stonger than your grip. Straps help move more wieght and get a better squeeze. If you want a strong grip use a handgripper...lol

Well, to be honest, right now I'm short on finances so I'm forced to use the "gym" for free at my apartment complex. It only has a four-station machine and free weights up to 50lbs so Im pretty limited. It does force me to be creative. The other day I set up the Ab decline bench, the back extension stand and used the cable row on the machine to do preacher curls....lol.

I only use straps when trying to move heavy weight such as in shrugs.

I do use straps sometimes on my heavy sets..Even db alternate curls I will use them sometimes...

I used to use them for all back work years ago, but not anymore. Mainly because my pulldowns/rows etc. aren't really that heavy.
I only use them for deadlifts/racklifts now but those are in the 500+lb range.

i always have them in my gym bag if i need em or if im going heavy i use them(simple)
buy them try them..they work for me.
wide grip rows/deads,they really come in to there own for me when ive done heavy back and im finnishing on asst chins and my forarms are fryed
IMHO

When I got to the point where I was working out with over 315 on deads I had to use them. I have used them on lat exercises such as pulldowns too. I also did them on rows when I went really heavy even with dumbells. For me once I got to a certain weight it was necessary.
