title should say appendix....sorry.....i got mine taken out yesterday. doc says no lifting for 3 weeks!!!!..... i dont know man. i dont think itll take that long. i think i can do some light machine work after a week or so....thoughts? experiences?

I had mine pulled in middle school. I didn't lift back then but I'd say 3 weeks is a good estimate. Did they do the big incision by the right side of your lower torso? Or the small incisions under the belly button? Obviously the latter would be quicker recovery.

When mine was "going out", it made me sicker than I've ever been. Hope you didn't have to go thru that.

Though it's a relatively common procedure, laparotomy is not exactly a light surgery. I believe most would be wise to rest.

But if you're as stubborn as me, you better go easy. I wouldn't go anywhere near a squat rack anytime soon...

Right, I believe the other one is called laparoscopy (sp?) (characterized by small incisions). Faster recovery for sure. Less invasive too...

being the abdomen, he'll feel it if he's not ready. It won't be pleasant.
