Are bicep peaks genetic?

I see alot of guys with some flat biceps. Makes their front double bi shot look horrible. I would think they train biceps just like anybody else, but they never can get a peak. Is it a genetic thing?

I've never read anything but opinions, but it seems the popular belief is yes, they are genetic. I would imagine just like the shape of any other muscle, it is genetically predetermined and while you can grow a muscle, you can't really shape it unless using something like Synthol.

I say yes 100%..I have short biceps genetically and after 15 years of training them, they still barely respond, its just not in my cards to have massive peaks or biceps.

thats a hard call man

id say with insane drops sets you can bring a peak out, but nothing that will last
all year round. when im preping for a show i can get the peak out wayyy more than they
usually are (and no not just because im lean)
but in the off season when im not drop setting like a mad man, they just go back
to being full and flat :-(

I have some decent peaks, I think. I don't do anything special. So I'd have to say that the idea of genetics being the cause is definitely plausible.

Same here. I would agree.

I second this too...

Where as I think genetics might play a role.. I think anyone with enough drive can PEAK the HELL right out of those heads...and of course.. there is always Synthol + GH + MGF ... If you can't do it on your own...

But, even when I was FAT and I flexed I always had a PEAK on my biceps.. i DON'T KNOW IF IT IS BECAUSE ever since I was 5 years old my dad had me doing curls.. I got 5 + 10lb weights for my 5th b-day.. and made me curl them all the time.. by the time I was 13 I was doing 10 sets of 10 with 35lb db's (I still have them) ...lol

site inj. will help some...but for the most part it is genetic's...im lucky that I have decent bis/tri's...not Darrem Charles peaks, but they are decent enough...

Why would it be then... My right arm has a sweet peak but left is flat as... Left is only a fraction smaller when measured but looks so much smaller when doing a double bie pose...
I believe I have more brain to muscle connection with my right arm aswell... Could this have somthing to do with it?

You got one arm dna from mom and the other one from dad? Sounds funny, but isn't it possible? Also, if you have a dominant tricep on one arm, it will change the appearance of one of your biceps. I have this issue myself.

Every one inherently has a larger arm... unless ambidextrous because well favor own one arm the does most of our daily tasks.......... so ONE will always be slightly bigger, more defined, stronger.. look at every bodybuilders double bi pose.. each arm while VERY SIMILAR, is always VERY DIFFERENT.. It's neat.. i noticed this like waaaay back when Arnold was my true hero.. and i wondered why one was better and bigger.. and then on top of that.. he always favored his favorite arm in his classic one arm bicep pose...

You are right about the tricep thing... I'm not sure about the arms from my mum n dad... I've really had to work out the genetics of spaghetti arms that run in my genes... Lol

It has to be genetics, I have trained biceps so beyond hard, gotten to the point of curling 100lb dumbells for sets of 10 and my arms at the biggest are 19-20"..Now my shoulders which I barely train because they are so gigantic genetically, I might train once a month if that, they are bigger then my head and I military press 150 dumbells per hand for reps of 10..Imagine if I trained them!!

I believe genetic predisposition is 100% for all bodyparts :)

Same here- I have larger right bis but my left is better shaped. and mine looks better relaxed and viewed from the side. Obviously a long tie in

when i train higher reps mine peak out more especially with concentrate type movements, when i train fewer reps they grow better but also flatter ?

I tried IGF for two weeks at 40 to 50 mcg in each bi and I could actually see a difference in my peak also I put on close to 1/2'' on my arm size then it tapered back but peak is still better than it use to be. But I def believe its genetics. A friend of mine has sick peaks and no tricep but his arms look better than mine IMO because of the great peak

I have small looking arms when I'm letting them hang, but they look big and peaky with a front double bi pose. It's very strange.

I would agree with that. Mine peak pretty well, but I'm also like fstr03svtcobra somewhat.

I have decent peaks as well and it makes my arms look much bigger than they really are, I love the bodybuilding illusion
