Who uses them? I for one in the past used to "hop on it" for 10 minutes after a 10 minute warmup on the treadmill or stationary bike. I have found that depending upon the way you set it up, and your posture and grip, you can quite effecively warm up your posterior deltoids, your anterior delts, your bis/tris, and even your upper chest a little bit.

By no means do I even consider this a workout, but I feel as though they are great for getting the muscles stretched, warm, and ready to lift heavy weight...
 
Yeah we have one. If you turn up the resitance on it, it can whoop your ass!

exactly. i turn up the resistance, as well as increasing the length of the lever arm thereby increasing the rotational acceleration and therefore torque; this in turn also contributes to a greater benefit...
